About this house rental

Casa Afra is a rustic that has been recently renewed with fine decorations. It has 2 floors, an external garden with barbecue corner, ping pong table, terrace, large living room, large dining room with fireplace, and a brand new fully equipped kitchen. On the second floor there is bathroom with shower box, a twin bedroom (beds can be joined), single bedroom and large main double bedroom with stunning view. Maximum sleeps is for 5 guest and a baby (baby bed is available on request). The tap water is drinkable and tastes super, so no need to buy and carry lots of bottled water.

Altough other places seems not far, it’s always longer driving because of all the circles around the mountains. To come somewhere take more time. Overall a beautiful and good place with friendly owners.

Beautiful house on peaceful Tuscan hillside

We stayed for a week in this lovely, spacious house not far from Lucca. The views are spectacular and the house has lots of sitting out space - a table where you can eat outside in all weathers, a rocking chair with a view down the valley, another table in the sun, a hammock and loungers, not to mention a ping pong table for the more active. There is also a very friendly visiting cat. Finding the house was challenging, as you have to negotiate many switchback bends and then find the single track road on which it sits, but once there we felt completely at home. Flight delays meant that we arrived late and in the dark, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a delicious courgette cake (speciality of the region) and a packet of coffee, as well as a bottle of the owners' delicious olive oil. Our week flew by and we spent time in Lucca (markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays), as well as visiting Florence by train from Lucca and the local sights. We had a fabulous meal at Valentino's Restaurant up the hill, which is an easy walk away and offers gargantuan portions of delicious local food. We wished we could have stayed longer and highly recommend Nonna Afra for a peaceful holiday.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich willkommen geheißen mit erfrischenden Getränken und eigenen Aprikosen und Oliven. Haus und Garten bieten zahlreiche Orte zum Ausruhen und Entspannen. Die Küchenausstattung ist sehr gut (auch Putzmittel, Tücher ...) und ebenso Handtücher und Bettwäsche sind reichlich vorhanden. Direkt vom Haus aus kann man einen Spaziergang machen über eine schattige, ruhige Straße. Ein gutes Restaurant - La Collins - ist in 8 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Die 3 Vermieter Andrea, Giacomo und Paolo waren äußerst hilfsbereit und haben uns tolle Ausflugs- und Restauranttipps gegeben. Vielen Dank - wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt!

Die Lage: das Haus liegt in einem kleinen Weiler in den Hügeln etwas nördlich von Lucca. Lucca und Pisa sind mit dem Auto schnell erreicht und auch Florenz ist nur eine gute Stunde entfernt. Zu den herrlichen Mittelmeerstränden fährt man lediglich 45 Minuten. Wanderwege sind direkt vom Haus aus oder nach ein paar Minuten Fahrt zu erreichen. Einer dieser Wege bot wunderbare Ausblicke auf die Berge und das Mittelmeer. Drei Restaurants befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe, der nächste örtliche Supermarkt ist ca. 6km entfernt. Das Haus: das Haus selbst bietet alles, was man für einen Urlaub benötigt. Das Wohnzimmer ist hell und freundlich und gewährt einen wunderbaren Blick auf die Hügel, ebenso dass große Schlafzimmer. Im Freien stehen zwei Tische auf der Terrasse zur Verfügung, wovon einer praktischer Weise überdacht ist. Im Garten gibt es neben Sitz- und Liegemöbeln eine Hängematte und einen Tischtennistisch. Die Vermieter: die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und äußerst hilfsbereit; sie versorgen einen mit guten Tipps und Ratschlägen. Auf unsere Anfragen vor und während des Aufenthalts erhielten wir jeweils innerhalb von ein paar Minuten die entsprechenden Antworten. Zusammenfassung: unser Aufenthalt im September war einfach wunderbar und erholsam. Es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir nächstes Jahr wieder einen Urlaub dort verbringen möchten. Das Haus ist eine absolute Empfehlung.

Very nice, spacious and charming cityhouse. We were very welcomed by one og the hosts and given an introduction to the house and the environment including suggestions to beaches and restaurants. Questions before and during the stay were promptly replied by the host. Wonderful Lucca and the sandy beaches at Via Reggio are around a half an hour drive away. Casa Afra is a great place to stay for a vacation

Nous avons passé 10 jours dans cette sympathique maison de village à 15-20 min de Lucques (par une route en lacets). La maison est très calme, avec un bon équipement. La vue est très dégagée dans la chambre principale, plus limitée dans les autres endroits. L'arrivée et le départ sont parfaits, quelqu'un nous venant à l'heure indiquée; le propriétaire très amical vit à 30 minutes de la maison et répond immédiatement à toute question pendant le séjour (via whatsapp, ou appel). Wifi parfait. Cuisine (gazinière) très correctement équipée, lave linge et lave vaisselles fonctionnels et simples. Un lit bébé installé à notre demande. Au total, parfaite base pour être tranquille, hors de la ville et de la plaine de Lucques, plus chauds en cette période d'été.

Ein wunderschönes Haus mit großer Terrasse und Garten und traumhaften Blick ins Tal. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr schön renoviert. Wenn man es mag, ist man sehr freundlich eingebunden in die Nachbarschaft des kleinen Ortes. Die Vermieter sind jederzeit sehr hilfsbereit mit allen Tipps, die man für einen erholsamen und entdeckungsreichen Toskanaurlaub benötigt. Sehr charmantes Haus mit super Gastgebern!

Wir verbrachten fast 2 Wochen in diesem sehr schönem Haus. Die Bilder und Beschreibung gaben eine Vorstellung was uns erwarten würde - und es war sogar noch schöner. Die antiken Böden, Holzbalkendecken haben ihren Charme, schön eingerichtet in rustikalem Stil, mal was ganz anderes als eine Ferienwohnung in einer Großstadt. Was mit Bildern nicht zu beschreiben ist, ist die unglaubliche Ruhe, bei der wir total entspannen konnten. Auf der Terrasse sitzen, den Blick in die Ferne schweifen lassen, ein Buch lesen – einfach abschalten. Oder, auch mal mit dem Auto nach Lucca fahren, die Altstadt genießen, Sehenswürdigkeiten bewundern. Wer nach Pisa oder Florenz will, dem empfehlen wir die Bahn ab Lucca. Bahnfahrten sind dort wesentlich günstiger als hier und vom Hauptbahnhof kann man stressfrei die Städte erkunden. Die Vermieter waren jederzeit erreichbar und überraschten uns mit einem Willkommenssnack. Es war eine schöne Zeit, Danke an Giacomo und Andrea.

Familienurlaub mit sehr hohem Erholungswert

Wir sind mit der Wahl des Domizils mit unseren drei kleinen Kids (3, 5, 7) sehr zufrieden. Die Beschreibung des Hauses hat gepasst, das Haus ist gepflegt und von der touristisch geprägten bzw. mediterranen Toskana ein gutes Stück weg. Die Lage war für unseren sportlichen, ruhigen und "kinderorientierten" Urlaub optimal. Das Dorf liegt wunderschön am Berg, direkt vom Haus aus sind zahlreiche, landschaftlich reizvolle Rad-, Wander-, Walkingtouren etc. möglich und die Nachbarin half in der Not aus. Nichtsdestotrotz haben wir auch zwei traumhaft schöne Tage am Strand "Versilia" (mit dem Auto ca. 30 min) sowie einen eindrucksvollen Tag in Florenz (Zug ab Lucca) verbracht. Die Vermieter waren äußerst hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wer in der Nähe sehr gut und preislich angemessen Essen gehen möchte, der sollte das Da Valentino (Fiano) sowie das Cecconi (S. Graziano) testen. Schwachstellen (im Mai): Meer noch zu kalt, Freibäder geschlossen sowie die Auszeichnung der Wanderwege ausbaufähig. Alles in allem sehr genial, wer mal raus aus der Masse möchte.
