About this apartment rental
The building where Casa Dante is located, which takes its name from the hillside ("coast" in the Florentine tradition) named after San Giorgio, is just Oltrarno, 30 meters from Ponte Vecchio and only 10 minutes walk from the Santa Maria Station Novella. The history of the structure is lost in time, preserving only some indisputable traces of its past: among these, the marble inscription of the eighteenth century in which the use of the building as an oratory of Santa Maria Maddalena in the previous centuries is testified.
The structure has also been the protagonist of famous films of international cinema.
The Costa San Giorgio district is located just Oltrarno, surrounded by some of the most spectacular places in the entire city. Ponte Vecchio - the city's symbolic bridge, was the only one spared at the end of the Second World War. It offers a charming view of the river and houses in the characteristic shops overlooking the street and back room consisting of a cantilever ("sporto") directly on the river, some of the most famous jewelers in the world. The shops were taken from ancient arcades then closed.
