A place with a ton of character

The place is so very quirky. It's big but has lots of nooks and crannies. The wood brazier is a lot of fun. We had a big family get together and had plenty of space for playing games. My daughter and her husband had a seperate studio, where they could relax without worrying that the baby might wake us. The location is excellent with a big supermarket only 400m away and beautiful views and walks all around. Rik the owner is a super chill guy. He's a handy guy for lending you an ice scraper if the snow covers your car. We made a lot of lovely memories in a very short time.

Very sympathetic and helpful host, great location, beautiful house with lots of opportunities indoor and outdoor. Lots of things to do at short driving distance.

If we have to come up with something: the composition of the bedlinen was not our favorite.

The owner is super friendly and the house is really well located. Some details as the radiant floor heating, nice coffee machine or the complimentary bottle of wine you get from the owner make you feel welcomed. We got very good tips from Rick, the owner, and enjoyed very much our stay at Le Paradise.

A cozy stay at the property with great soul and nature just begind the doorstep.

A lot of space inside the house, the bizarness of it (huge ceilings, quirky stairs and huge glass doors, not to mention infrared sauna in the kitchen - what could beat that!) Close to the village facilities (shops) and hiking track just outside the door. Views from the shabby terrace. The fact that it was the house where you could feel the touch and soul of aperson who owns it - not soul-less rented facilities. Good wifi - and HDMI cable to attach to the TV with large sofa in front. Rather well equipped kitchen - allowed us to cook to our needs, even if amount cuttlery was a bit too exact for our company of 8. Complimentary wine bottle from Rick - that always adds a star to a review :) Eggs (even goose ones) in the neighbour farm on saturday morning outset morning alarm of the cocks - which some of us enjoyed more than others :)

Sanitary facilites were rather complex and not everything functioned as one would expect. (we did not manage to make work ALL streams in the jacuzzi shower - however, normal and tropical shower and blue lights with FM music were satisfying enough). What we really missed was a freezer - since we have overestimated our appetite for artisanal ice cream from a neigbourhood, however nice it was. Also for a people with a longer stay - washing machine and a dryer could be handy (we soiled all our clothes during 3 days of hiking). Maybe some hangers at the entrance and in the shower rooms could also add to even greater comfort - and terrace furniture will not last till our next visit I guess :)

Lovely place to return to!

We stayed at the studio appartment at Le Paradis for 3 nights during kid's carneval holidays. We are a family of 4 and our kids are 6 and 7 years old. Arrivimg at the property we were pleasantly surprised as the pictures on the site do not really do the place any justice - it is super cosy and the heated flooring made a real difference in the cold winter/ early spring evenings after coming back from hikes in the woods. Rick (the owner) made us feel very welcome and was super helpful at all times. There is a little farm right on the property. The children loved it. The studio is well equipped and the place is located close to the High Fens and Longfaye waterfall. It is also close to Monde Savage safari park where we spent a full day admiring the exotic animals. The kids loved the safari ride in the car (We weren't so impressed with Forestia which has a selection of much more common animals)). We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone loving some time away from the city rush.

Prima voor een paar dagen.

De accommodatie was erg ruim. De eigenaar reageerde razendsnel in woord en daad bij vragen etcetera. Accommodatie ligt op steenworp van het centrum van Theux en een middelgrote supermarkt. In het centrum van Theux starten een paar bewegwijzerde wandelroutes.

De accommodatie is nogal "bijzonder" ingericht. Niet alle voorzieningen werkten naar behoren. Een aantal gasten werden uit de slaap gehouden door de ganzen/geiten/hond van de buren.

Hygiëne was ondermaats

Locatie

De hygiëne van het huis was een enorme tegenvaller. Er gingen overal spinnenwebben, de douches bevatten schimmel en van de ene douche sloot de deur niet eens. Het huis bevat een duffe, mottige geur, absoluut niet fris. Als laatst kwam er uit de pompbak van de studio inhoud van het toilet naar boven, zeer erg verschieten. We zijn hier dan ook een nacht minder gebleven dan gepland.

Confort des lits à ne plus vouloir partir.

Tout ! Rien à redire, Rick est d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle, il a pu nous trouver une solution pour des collègues qui ont eu une annulation en dernière minute. Il mérite que son logement soit loué toute l'année tellement il est d'une gentillesse hors pair... je le conseille x1000 c'est le meilleur propriétaire de tous les voyages avec booking !!! Merci Rick ❤️ et à l'année prochaine !

Uniek verblijf

Hele aardige Nederlandse gastheer en een ronduit unieke en bijzonder ruime lokatie aan de rand van het fraaie dorpje Theux. Heerlijke plek om een paar zonnige dagen te mogen verblijven en rond te trekken met ons gezin van 5.

Hygiëne in de basis op orde, maar verwacht geen hotel standaard. Aardig wat stofwebben aan de (hoge) plafonds. Vloer dakterras iets te primitief geconstrueerd om er echt prettig gebruik van te kunnen maken.

Groot huis met veel aparte slaapplaatsen, gezellige eettafel en houtkachel om bij te zitten.

Niets, de foto's en omschrijvingen zijn duidelijk. Een groot, gezellig rommelig mannenhuis.

Heerlijk verblijf in een prachtige omgeving.

Prachtige locatie, dicht bij wandelgebied èn dichtbij supermarkt en dorp. Zeer aardige eigenaar en contactpersoon ter plaatse.

Er zijn wat geïmproviseerde slaapkamers gemaakt met schotten. Daardoor heb je wat minder privacy. Maar daar viel voor ons goed mee te leven omdat het een (lang) weekend betrof. We hadden wat pech met wateraanvoer in ons weekend maar dat is door de eigenaar goed opgelost.

magisch

Het bijzondere ruimtelijk huis met vele fijne hoekjes. Mooi gelegen, vlakbij het middeleeuwse Theux en vlakbij weergaloze natuur. De service van beddengoed, handdoeken, lekkere koffie van koffiemachine ... er is veel voorzien. Bereikbaarheid van host. Ik vond de sfeer gewoon fantastisch. Je moet wel kunnen leven dat niet alles perfect in orde is.

Een ontbrekende douchedeur, laag debiet van koud water in de badkamer boven. Meewiegende trap naar eerste verdiep. Geen haakjes voor handdoeken. Frigo en diepvries missen een bak en een rekje. Zoals gezegd kleine euveltjes.

Viel platz, aber Reparaturen fällig

Wenn man sowohl die positive als negative Teile (werden standard nicht mehr angezeigt!) der Bewertungen liest, weiß man worauf man sich einlässt. Ich hatte leider nur die positive Teile gelesen und war mir deshalb vieles nicht bewust. Wir haben im großem Ferienhaus übernachtet mit 8 Personen. Positiv ist: Lage, Anzahl qm, netter Empfang Die Spülmaschine war neu. Ausstattung Küche: viele Töpfe, ausreichend Besteck, Teller, Gläser. Die Raumeinteilung ist besonders - EG: Eingang, Küche, einen großen Esstisch, Bad und eine abgeschirmte Schlafecke (2 Pers). Kein Flur beim Haustür. 1. Stock: Bad, 2 Schlafzimmer (2 x 2 Pers.), 1 abgeschirmte Schlafecke (2-3 Pers), Kücheninsel (nicht benutzt), Sitzecke mit Fernseher (nicht benutzt), großen Esstisch, Balkon mit Sitzgelegenheit. 2. Stock (offener Raum): Sitzecken, Raumfüllung (nicht benutzt). Fast alles ist offen mit einander verbunden und sehr geräumig. Garten mit Trampolin Fazit: wenn man nicht so hohe Erwartungen hat, wenig aufs Klo muss, und alle gleichzeitig schlafen gehen und aufstehen kann man hier gut ein paar Tagen verbringen.

Beim Empfang wurde schon erwähnt, dass die Klospülung im Bad oben manchmal schwierig geht. Leider ging die Spülung nach einige malen gar nicht mehr und konnten wir die Toilette nicht mehr benutzen. Es gibt 2 Badezimmer mit Toilette und Dusche, 1 im Erdgeschoß, 1 im 1. Stock, keine separaten Toiletten. Da die Treppe zwischen EG und 1. Stock richtig steil ist, möchte man nachts im dunkeln ungerne runter. Dabei stört man dann auch noch die andere Gäste, da 2 'Schlafzimmer' keine Zimmer sind, aber nur mit Raumteiler abgeschirmt vom offenen Raum (sehe oben). Da das Dach sehr hoch ist, aber schon im 1.OG anfängt, gibt es (in den Schlafzimmern) sehr hohe Dachfenster, die man nicht öffnen kann/darf, weil sie keine Fliegengitter haben. Man kann die Schlafzimmer also gar nicht luften, und das Bettdecken und Kissen haben (deshalb?) auch nicht frisch gerochen. Auch andere Fenster und Türen hatten leider kein Fliegengitter bzw konnte man gar nicht öffnen. Im Bad im 1.OG fehlt eine Duschtür (laut Bewertungen auch schon länger). Trampolin ist nicht sicher (kein Netz vorhanden)
