—VACATION RENTAL ONLY With an unbeatable location right in the heart of the city, this one-bedroom apartment is part of a classic Madrid building that has been elegantly renovated with high-quality materials. The property is located on the famous and central Plaza de la Puerta del Sol, home to Kilómetro Cero. This square is famous for housing the New Year’s Eve chimes clock. Spaniards eat 12 grapes in time with this clock’s chimes at midnight on December 31.
All the city’s attractions are within walking distance: Plaza Mayor is 5 minutes away, Gran Vía is just over 5 minutes away, and beyond it lie the entrances to the trendy neighborhoods of Chueca and Malasaña; the San Miguel Market is 10 minutes away, the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral, and the Buen Retiro Park are about 15 minutes away.
This apartment is the perfect base for those visiting the Spanish capital. The Espoz y Mina apartment was designed with an open-concept layout, combining the kitchen, living room, and dining area into a single space. It features a dishwasher, oven, large refrigerator, glass-ceramic cooktop, and all the kitchenware you’ll need during your stay. The living room area is full of charm and offers all the comfort you need. A soft rug frames a coffee with cream table that separates the living room from the dining area. The elegant dining table seats up to four people. The apartment has a unique terrace with enough space for guests to enjoy a quick meal or even a glass of wine after a long day in the city.
The master bedroom has been designed to the same high standards as the rest of the apartment. This room exudes comfort, space, and style. The elegant bedroom features a double bed (1.50 m x 2.00 m) with luxury linens, a high-quality mattress, and pillows that make the bed even more comfortable. The location was great & central to everything. The place is in a pedestrian area with no car access so be aware that if you have a lot of, or heavy luggage you will need to walk quite a bit before you get to the place. The owner should really make this clear in the description. Besides that, the place is great.

The property was as expected. Vanrays Management was openly hostile. They had a chip on their shoulder and a combative attitude about every one of our requests. Upon arrival, we had no towel larger than a hand towel and it took two days of arguing for them to send bath towels AND they still insisted we had bath towels and they had sent a second pair of bath towels. Our visit was 12 nights without them asking us if we needed fresh linens or towels. I've done business with HomeAway/VRBO for thirty years ALL OVER EUROPE and have complained on only two other occasions. This management company is in a very select group of the worst. Their fallback statement was to look in our storage areas for what we needed. The apartment had no "House Rules" or directions on how to use any of the appliances. This is a major shortfall as it forced us to call Vanrays for help and they made it clear that they didn't want to help and that we were on our own. When we asked for help with an appliance, we were told that we were given directions at check-in, which we were not, and that was sufficient. We would tell them we had not been instructed in the use of an appliance and they would say, yes you have. How does one consider that a productive dialog? I've attached two photos of their storage areas. If any of you would like to dig around in these areas, be my guest. Respectfully submitted...

The apartment was very well located if you want to be in the very heart of things.Steps from Sol Metro station. It was well supplied.It could use a deep clean however.The bed is a queen, although when we booked it, we were assured that it was a king.The orientation to the place was from a disinterested young gentleman who seemed in a rush to leave.
