The Volunteer

The staff were friendly but the room and facilities were not what I expected from the price I paid. I stayed for two nights in room 5 and was kept awake both nights by a very loud fan that went on and off every thirty seconds. There were no little welcoming touches like miniature shampoo and shower gels, soaps, etc but there was a nearly empty hand soap which I believe had been watered down a few times. The tea and coffee supplies were very limited, although you can get more if you want them. There was no sign on the door showing details of fire exits, wifi passwords, etc. It was all very limited and lifeless but if I’d have been able to sleep that would have made all the difference. Breakfast is extremely limited and only available from Wednesday to Sunday. I was handed a large menu but told only a small selection of items were being offered. There were no cereals, juices, fruit, etc. just the cooked breakfast. If I remember rightly eggs Benedict or a fry up. Nothing else. I did ask just to be sure but no. Nothing else at all. I would not stay again and do not recommend it.

Quite basic and not very close to anything but suited our needs. They provided ear plugs - presumably for road noise but that didn't bother us.
