The Social Hub Glasgow

I stayed at The Social Hub Glasgow for two nights and, having stayed here before, I was unfortunately disappointed with this visit. Firstly, despite being a paying hotel guest, I was told I couldn’t use the first-floor co-working space without paying an additional charge. I understand charging non-residents to use dedicated co-working facilities, but I find it difficult to understand why hotel residents aren’t given access as part of their stay, particularly when the alternative is to use the public areas downstairs which are accessible to anyone. The biggest disappointment, however, was the lack of even basic daily housekeeping. After returning to the hotel after midnight following a long day of business meetings, I discovered that my room hadn’t been attended to at all. The bed hadn’t been made and the tea, coffee and water hadn’t been replenished. When I raised this the following morning, I was simply told that rooms are serviced every two days. I can understand not replacing towels or carrying out a full room clean every day, particularly from an environmental perspective. However, I don’t consider making the bed and replenishing basic in-room refreshments to be unreasonable expectations for a hotel stay. The response when I raised it was also disappointing. There seemed to be very little concern that I was unhappy with the experience or any real attempt to address it. The room itself was perfectly decent, but the stay was relatively expensive for two nights, albeit Glasgow was particularly busy at the time. At that price point, I expect the basic standards of a hotel stay to be met. Unfortunately, I left feeling genuinely dissatisfied and, based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend The Social Hub Glasgow or choose to stay here again.

Great location, clean and really appreciate the laundry services. The breakfast buffet was really good too. Only downside was, there was no mini fridge in the room..something to take note of.

Extremely poor service and bad rooms with no amenities, just a very overpriced hostel. For this money you can stay at a normal hotel like Hilton or Leonardo. Feels like all the positive reviews are bought, so don’t trust them.

Not worth the money. Rooms small and cramped , hotel doesn't have a reception but 300 staff that are having chats all day. It isn't a "hotel" it's everything under the sun. Security looking at hotel guests up and down feeling v unsecure. It's also full of deliveroo drivers outside and drug takers.
