    Staff was friendly and helpful. Paying extra for the indoor parking was well worth it and made for a low stress stay in the Beverly Hills area.

    This is the first negative review I have ever left. We checked into The Carlyle around 4PM on Saturday 08/10/25. There was only one person working. When we got into our room it was 78 degrees. We turned on the AC immediately and went to lay down. Approximately one hour later, the one employee called and woke us up and said I needed to move my car because I was blocking someone in. (Please be aware we had specifically asked him about our parking spot when checking in and he assured us it would not be a problem.) I was frustrated as I was woken up, and the main reason we got the hotel for the night was we were attending an event that started late that evening and would be going until early the next morning. I asked him what would have happened if I was out and unavailable to move my car, and he responded he "did not know". I moved my car and when I got back to the room I realized it had not gotten any cooler even though the AC had been on the lowest setting for close to two hours at this point. In fact, it now said it was 79 degrees in the room. We went down to the front desk and he offered to switch us to a different room. We asked if it would be the same room, and he said it would be different. As we had paid for an upgraded room, we asked if it would be the same size and he stated he "didn't know, but it was different". We went to look, and the room was MUCH smaller than our original, but it was nice and cool and at this point we needed to start getting ready for our event so we just moved our things over. The next problem came in that the electrical outlets in the bathroom did not work. So now my wife had to do her hair in the very small main room, with no mirror or place to sit. A few of the lights were also out in the bathroom, so it was very dim for her to do her makeup. Directly above our room was people playing different games on the outdoor deck, and it was INCREDIBLY loud. It sounded like there was zero insulation between our ceiling and the deck above, so every ball they dropped sounded like it was about to come through the ceiling. We managed to get ready and left for event. We got back to the room around 3AM. The bed in this new room was different from the first and was awful, with a huge sinking dip in the middle. At around 8AM on Sunday morning, they were power washing outside which was not only very loud, but the door to our room had large gap at the bottom and water had flooded into our room, getting our luggage and shoes next to the door wet. It was an extremely large puddle which we have pictures of. When we checked out, there was a girl at the front desk who was much nicer and more capable than the man from the prior evening. She took down our issues, including the fact we paid for a large room and got moved to a much smaller room and said a manager would be calling us within 24 hours. (She was once again the only person working.) Of course, no manager has contacted me and it was been 5 days. I would never stay here again. I know this sounds like a laundry list of complaints, but this is literally the first time I've ever felt compelled to leave a negative review. We stay in hotels 50+ nights a year all over the world, and I've never had such an overall bad experience.
