    Very convenient area nice & clean. Having the restaurant/ bar was a plus you could dine in or take it back to the room if you don’t love that option

    The chance of your call to front desk being picked up is 1 out of 10 (yes, we tried 10 calls in different times in three days and only one got picked up). There is always a line at the front desk. The Indian lady who checked us in spoke too fast, as if she was just memorising her script to us. We were unable to understand the city tax credit and we waste two nights of it. The other Spanish speaking lady at the front desk was pretending to be helpful (as an experienced traveller, we can tell who is being helpful and who is pretending to be). It was only the African-American lady at the Highball who was really helpful and sorted out our problems. All these cons did mot outweigh its convenient location (and it’s expensive!). Thus, it was an overall thumb down for me.

    The location can’t be beat - the entrance is twenty feet from the Square itself right in the centre of the madness. If you want to get anywhere in NYC there are numerous subway stations within a five minute walk and any number of food options right on your doorstep. The hotel seems new, and the staff are trying hard, so service is welcoming. The lift system (one from the street to the lobby, another with security swipes and screen entries before you get in) is tiresome and takes getting used to, but the lifts are frequent and fast. My King room was a decent size (all King rooms face north FYI) and everything worked fine. I happened to get a good last minute deal, but value-wise, if you don’t need to be right on TS, you can probably do better. Overall, though, recommended.

    Was told I had to pay an additional hotel tax at check in, of about $200USD in total. This was not mentioned beforehand. Concierge was terrible, and check-in was slow.
