An unplanned trip, but we’re so glad we found this place! 😊 I booked a room with 2 queen beds, which was perfect for us. The room had a great view from Level 17 and was comfortable throughout our stay. The location is great, with 99 Speedmart, Guardian, and other shops nearby, making it very convenient. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely come again. Highly recommended! 👍

Serasi Padi Hotel is a newly refurbished hotel, so in terms of cleanliness, I would rate it around 4/5. The rooms were generally clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were also friendly, polite and helpful throughout our stay. However, there are several operational and facility issues that I feel need improvement, especially as the hotel is positioned as a 4-star property. We booked three rooms — a Junior Suite, Family Room and Deluxe Room — as we were travelling with our extended family. As first-time guests, we felt there was not enough information or guidance provided regarding the hotel layout and facilities. The check-in process was rather slow and the overall arrival flow was inconvenient. The lobby is on the Ground Floor, check-in is on Level 1, while parking is at LG. More importantly, there is no lift access from the LG parking level, which means guests have to carry their luggage up and down the stairs. This was especially difficult for us as my parents-in-law are around 70 years old and have knee problems. For a relatively new/refurbished hotel, I hope accessibility for elderly guests and guests with mobility limitations can be improved. Another inconvenience was the access card system. Only one access card was initially provided for each room, including our Junior Suite. Since the card is required to access the lift and guest-room floors, whenever my husband went downstairs, I sometimes had to come down to the lobby to bring him back up. Eventually, I had to request additional access cards. As we booked three rooms, the same issue applied to the other rooms as well. I would suggest providing at least two cards per room, particularly for double, family and suite occupancy. The facilities inside the Junior Suite were also quite basic considering the room category. The TV in the living room was not functioning properly and had no channels, which was unexpected for a suite. Wi-Fi was quite slow, disconnected frequently and was particularly inconvenient because Maxis mobile coverage in the hotel was also limited during our stay. There was only one rubbish bin in the entire suite, with no rubbish bin in the bathroom. In my opinion, a bathroom bin is a basic necessity. Only two clothes hangers were provided as well, which is rather limited for a suite or for guests staying more than one night. Noise may also be an issue for light sleepers. Our room was affected by noise from the nearby railway station whenever trains passed. On several occasions, the noise was loud enough to wake my child from sleep. Parking at the LG level is limited, and there was no valet service during our stay. There is also no in-room dining service, so we did not have the opportunity to try the hotel’s food. Check-out was another area that could be modernised. The process took some time because staff needed to physically check the room before completing the checkout. This felt more like the practice of older hotels rather than what I would expect from a contemporary 4-star property. Overall, I think Serasi Padi has good potential. The rooms are spacious, the hotel is clean, and the staff are genuinely friendly. In fact, cleanliness is one of its strongest points compared with some of my previous hotel experiences in Alor Setar. However, at the moment, the service flow, guest communication, accessibility and room facilities feel closer to a budget hotel despite the 4-star positioning. Share more
