Don't let the exterior fool you, inside is clean, one of the cleanest hotels I've ever been in. I caught one of the staff scrubbing the stairs by hand with a scrubby! Lovely staff who made every reasonable effort to communicate in English with me. The location is adjacent to where you want to be, lots of beautiful restaurants within a 10 minutes walk and great street food just around the corner. Convenient to public transportation. The restaurant was great too. The tortilla soup is awesome especially on a cool rainy evening. I had four days here and slept great in an inexpensive interior room which was very quiet. Room was a little warm but when I asked for a fan the staff located one and brought it up to me. I'm very happy I stayed here and would gladly stay again.

This is an old school hotel that is "solid" choice if you want a comfortable, clean place to sleep. It is rather old and needs refreshing of the decor and infrastructure.
However, don't let that lure you away (unless you want the luxury and modern vibe).
We found the room to be clean, and everything works well. No frills, come to store your belongings and freshen up and sleep, and that's it head out and explore the city and enjoy the close proximity to Insurgentes metro stop to go anywhere else easily.
We were here during the really crowded world cup matches but the hotel and staff were professional and adequate.

Hotel looks like it was at its glory long time ago, but now it has been abandoned. The smell of old is obvious and the carpets as well. I’d rather pay a little more next time and stay at a better hotel. The pictures and reviews here do not portray the reality. The positive things about this hotel is its location and friendly staff.
