PCA Hotel 1 - Vinhomes Ocean Park

1- Pro: The neighborhood where the hotel is located is lovely and safe for walking any time of the day or night. 2- Con: No access to a washing machine/ no commercial or family laundry shops anywhere in the area. Had to hand wash my clothes in the bathroom sink throughout my 2 week stay and dry them on chairs on the balcony. 3- Con: No iron. No microwave. So my clothing was wrinkled- not the professional appearance I wanted at Vin University. Ate alone at night and had to thorw out leftovers as there was no way to warm them up. Felt like I wasted money. 4- Con: B'fast. B'fast was to be included except, you had to ride on the back of a motor bike as it was served at a different hotel. I walked in and the kitchen staff were eating a noodle dish. I was excited, but nope. Guests were served a piece of white bread with margarine (toaster was broken and margarine- not butter), a hard boiled egg and some fruit. Coffee was instant. Never went back and made do with yogurt and granola in my room. 5- Con: Housekeeping: While they cleaned, they did not change the sheets at all during my 12 night stay nor did they resupply the shampoo and bath gel every day. I had to ask for shampoo and bath gel. Finally gave up and just bought some. The blinds in the bathroom were covered in dirt. I took a damp towel and started wiping the slats off. (picture provided) 6- Con: Fire Hazard. I like taking the stairs, so on two different occasions, I tried to take the stairs down to the 1st floor. It was cluttered with construction materials and the 1st floor door was blocked with housekeeping supplies. If there was a fire, there would be serious injuries. Plus, the stairs were not lit. So on both occasions, I had to go back up and take the elevator down. 7- Con: They do not give you a proper receipt for your hotel stay. If you pay by card, you get the small piece of paper printed by the machine. 8- Con: A. You are provided 1 clothes hanger. So I had to buy some. B. There no ice available at the hotel, so I had to buy an ice tray and make my own. 8- Con: There is NO office workspace. I drug the round metal table off the balcony into the room to make myself a makeshift desk. There is a make up table, but no plugs (!) so it cannot be used for work. (picture provided) 9- CON: The shower floor is marble tile and very slick. There was no place to put your soap/ shampoo except the floor making it more slick and a serious fall hazard. Had to buy a shower caddy to place bathing items. Routinely placed a hand towel on the shower floor to reduce the risk of falls. If you were going to stay at the hotel one, maybe two nights- it is okay. For any longer, cannot recommend. I will not stay here during my next visit.
