Monastere des Augustines

What an absolutely beautiful place to rest your head at night. With a silent breakfast in the morning, it is a wonderful way to start your day in a peaceful, mindful manner. My room was a traditional room with a shared bathroom and the facilities were pristinely clean. Location could not have been better being very close to the center of activity in Quebec city and walking distance to everywhere you would want to go in this beautiful historic city. The breakfast was all organic local produce as well as fresh baked goods and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend staying at this beautiful monastery and supporting the sisters of Augustine in their ongoing pursuit of providing care and comfort to those in need.

I LOVED this place. The rich history (take the free tour!) made this stay memorable and enjoyable. The silent breakfast was peaceful and a wonderful way to start each day, but that quiet, meditative mood characterized the monastery a refuge all day long. It was such a peaceful place to stay with comfortable seating within hidden nooks throughout the property indoors and out. Strolling along the city ramparts was a nice way to extend that mood beyond the property. The location is perfect for tourists and less than a ten minute walk from the bus/train station. Nearby buses connect you to the lower town, ferry terminal and waterfall. The shared bathrooms/showers were spacious, clean, and (during my 5-night stay) always available. Don’t hesitate to stay here. It’s a hidden gem and absolutely worth the $$. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

The monastere was so peaceful and high quality. The breakfast was an excellent way to start the day- everything fresh, healthy, homemade. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One of the best places I've ever stayed. Everything was exceptionally clean, and I didn't encounter any problems during my stay. I would definitely book here again. I booked the Authentic Room with a shared bathroom ( used by a nun in the early days ) and it was absolutely worth it. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my trip. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the comforter was so soft, and I slept like a baby every night. The room was spotless, and the entire building felt like staying in a museum, full of history and character. I truly loved my stay here. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and very polite. A special thank you to Felix, who was especially efficient, welcoming, and kind. Although I had a shared bathroom, it was never an issue. There were plenty of bathrooms and toilets on the floor, all impeccably clean and well stocked with hairdryers, extra toilet paper , paper towel and. fresh towels,The towels were always clean and fresh. The location is excellent, close to everything, and the views right in front of the property overlooking the city are simply beautiful. I highly recommend Monastère des Augustines and will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Québec City.
