We stayed here for a couple of days in July. The reviews we'd seen prior were accurate. The elevators were not working well; two of the three were out of order for the majority of our stay. That meant we had to wait a long while for one elevator along with the rest of the guests. The one elevator would only allow four people otherwise a weight limit alarm would signal. We stayed on the 6th floor, so we took the stairs most of the time. Good thing is we got a lot of exercise, but for people with disabilities or for those unable to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs, it would be a problem. The rooms are outdated and were in need of a deep clean; the shower floor had mold, and there were traces of body hair under the sink, and floor. The hotel carpets needed a vacuum and deep clean as well. We spent most of our time near the seaside, swimming and lounging on the cement beach area , which was hot due to the cement. They may want to think about adding some kind of natural surface or even synthetic turf to absorb some of the heat. The water wasn't always clean due to the proximity to the bay where a lot of cruise ships pass through, but there's not much the hotel can do about that. To get to the beach, also requires navigating about 180 stair steps (yes, I counted). The elevator that would normally take visitors from the hotel to the beach area was broken. I think they were in the process of fixing it on our last day there, but not sure. So we got a lot more exercise walking up and down the stairs to and from the seaside. On a positive note, the food options were good and plentiful, the staff was also friendly and helpful. Although we made the best of it despite the shortcomings, I do not see us returning to this hotel in the future. I imagine the hotel was beautiful at one point...maybe in the 90's, but it is in serious need of upgrades and repairs if it wants to compete with the other hotels in the area. I wish them well.
