    Great Japanese Breakfast, but Room Noise Was Disruptive Overall, the hotel was a little outdated, and the room could use some renovation. The biggest issue during our stay was the sound insulation between floors. The ceiling/floor construction seems quite thin, and we could clearly hear noise coming from the room above us. Unfortunately, the guests above us appeared to have children who were frequently running and jumping around. The impact noise was very noticeable inside our room and became quite disruptive, especially when we were trying to relax. We contacted the hotel staff about the problem, and they also acknowledged that they could hear the noise. However, we were told that if the noise continued after the hotel’s designated quiet time, we should contact the front desk again and they might notify the guests upstairs. I understand that a hotel cannot completely control the behavior of other guests, especially families traveling with children. However, better sound insulation would make a significant difference. If you are sensitive to noise, I would recommend requesting a room on the highest available floor. On the positive side, the Japanese restaurant breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed the food, selection, and overall breakfast experience. It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, the hotel has some good qualities, particularly the Japanese breakfast, but the outdated rooms and poor sound insulation affected our experience. With some renovation and improved soundproofing, it could be a much more comfortable place to stay.

    We always enjoy staying at the Kyoto Brighton Hotel. Quiet, peaceful atmosphere in a great location a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the shopping districts. Very convent walking distance to the Imperial Residential Palace. Wonderful buffet restaurant as well as other restaurants. We have stayed here many many times and have enjoyed it every time! We have stayed at other hotels in Kyoto, but nothing quite compares to the Brighton Hotel. Highly recommend.
