If you want a quiet location with plenty of character this is where you want to stay. Staff are friendly and helpful too.

Stayed 2 nights midweek, room clean although looking a bit tired but all in keeping with the rest of the hotel, good breakfast, excellent value. 10% service charge added when ordering from bar, although this is optional if you read the small print!.

The room was so musky smelling, a very big dirty path on entry in the carpet, and light switch to bathroom filthy with a built up of grime from years of not being polished clean, did ask the reception to clean it but it never got cleaned ..also the beds were impossible to sleep on as so hard and uncomfortable and the one disabled spot in the car park was constantly taken up by a none disabled car parked their for our duration, did tell reception staff that a non blue badge holder was taking up our only place to park, we had to park a long way from the hotel and walk from the over pill car park ....we had our rooms in the attic part of the hotel and with it not having a lift made it hard for us to climb the many stairs...lovely grounds at the hotel but the room was so basic and nothing like the photos displayed when booking online ....
