Hotel Sogo Malate

During our first two nights, we were initially placed in a room that strongly smelled of smoke, even though I had clearly requested a non-smoking room. The sheets also smelled of smoke, and even the walls seemed to have absorbed the odor, possibly because the hotel also accommodates smoking rooms. We raised our concern that same night, and we were given what seemed like a DIY air freshener. We generously sprayed the walls and curtains ourselves and left the exhaust fan running, hoping the smell would eventually disappear. Unfortunately, the odor was still noticeable the following day, so we raised the concern again with the front desk. Having stayed in hotels within the same price range that offer clean, neat, and fresh-smelling rooms, I was honestly considering checking out that night. However, we were already exhausted from our flight, and I also had to work remotely that evening, so moving to another hotel would have been quite inconvenient. Thankfully, the receptionist who assisted us the following day was accommodating. She wasn’t the same person who checked us in, but she listened to our concern and arranged for us to be transferred to another floor. The new room was considerably better, and even the air-conditioning unit was much quieter. We stayed for a total of six nights because my husband had some things to process at his agency nearby. The location was convenient, with a 7-Eleven and Malate Church within the area. The neighborhood also felt relatively safe during our stay, and it wasn’t overly crowded or noisy. Overall, while our initial room experience was disappointing, I appreciated that the staff eventually addressed our concern and moved us to a much better room. The location was also a plus, especially for a longer stay. Another con was it's a windowless room, maybe the higher priced rooms have windows but for a night shift worker like me, it is somewhat fine since you can also hang on their lobby

The lady guard and sir cris is very accommodating rooms always clean .all staff are polite ..this is our 25th times in SOGO mabini .

Place was clean and staff are helpful
