    My first impression was the Maxim was a rundown hotel that needs renovation - facelifts desperately. I arrived a little earlier than usual checking time around 1.45pm but i was made to wait until 2.40pm due to the cleaning still going on. I was dead tired due to the long haul flight and literally pissed off. But then next morning cleaning lady knocked on my door and cleaned and rearranged the room perfectly, and then the breakfast- surprisingly the coffee was good, the buffet breakfast was not a huge range but everything was pretty tasty too - i loved sweet pound cake with nuts inside. So if you are a budget-limited traveller or simply want to save some money on accomodation but spend your money on something else - which was my case -such as arena the opera and shopping.. this might be a place for you. Staff as it turns out, very friendly and eager to accomodate your request. So despite the fact it needs some facelifts, it still houses various needs of ppl around the world. If you also like a late nite drink, you could also have it in the house - i came back from open air opera late night and was able to get a glass of gin and tonic with lots of ice.. which was exactly what I needed at such hot Italian Summer nite!     Everything was great for *** Room Only..was a bus journey of 20 minutes..but it was ok..Receptionist so friendly..Supermarket next door..restaurants 5 min walk.

    Good one to consider if you have your own transportation . Oh clock transportation is good too but you need to walk few meters . After 8pm, the frequency of public transportation is limited .

    Room was cramped, dated, not matched what I booked at all Location: Not easy to reach after midnight from Verona city centre Receptionist at check in was nice, night porter was paying more attention to his phone than guests Hotel itself is very dated and old Requested a small attention as I was staying there on my birthday and was asked what my budget was. Terrible experience
