*** made our stay. He was the receptionist/TV and AC repairman etc etc. Breakfast manager seemed to overcharge. Difficult to wait til 4pm to check in with the restaurant, only 2 doors down, not happy we were told to leave our bags there!!!!

Free breakfast is the best!! So take advantage of it. The staff will give the stub and it’s from 8am to 11am at Restaurant Sagamité (just a minute walk from the hotel)
Location is great, it’s 10-15 mins walk going to fairmont hotel & other tourist spots.
Room 1 & 2 are on ground floor
Room 3 to 5 are on second
It’s true that stairs are quite steep, lucky we got room 5 so going up is manageable.
It’s not as clean as the 5 stars hotel. We just stayed there to sleep (I suggest you bring your own blankets & pillow cases) & take a shower (the washroom is super small and not recommended if you’re not comfortable with small space).
We brought our own bath towels (the best decision we made!)
NO HAIRDRYER too, so bring your own.
Overall, I still recommend this place. We had a good night sleep, didn’t have any problem & enjoyed our stay here.

Maison du General is in the perfect spot to see all the attractions in old town Quebec. The Sagamite restaurant is one of the best in the town and the food and staff were excellent. However, we were assigned the same room we had 2 years ago (room 3) the coffee machine was STILL not working (even though we had notified them 2 years ago!) on top of that, the TV was also broken this time.
