Nice old hotel with all the amenities. Close to many restaurants and shops. Bed was creaky and mattress was way too hard. Towels were nearly see through. Old facility so no elevator which is a pain especially if you’re placed on the third floor. Floors creaked which can wake up your partner. Plenty of room that included a tub. Just need a good bed to sleep.

Is a very simple place, but is clean and very well located, easy access to public transportation, and many tourists places. Just consider doesn’t have elevator and probably the wooden floors are a little noisy.

LOCATION: 4 star The biggest advantage of Unilofts is its location. It is closed to everything you’ll need to survive a vacation w/o relying on dining out every day. Places to Go Closed to the Hotel (1) Parliament (2) Plains of Abraham (3) Martello Tower 1 (4) Joan of Arc Garden (5) Citadelle de Québec THE ROOM As mentioned in other reviews, there is NO ELEVATOR. My room is in the 3rd floor. And when I booked it says Double Room but I got a small old room. So managed your expectation. BATHTUB I had to clean the drain of the bathtub because it took time to drain. Next time, I’ll bring gloves on my trip. OLD HOTEL AND CARPET It is an old hotel that is evident everywhere you look especially the carpet. The colour of the carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. Just as someone mentioned in the review, you can just ignore it and go about the day. My room doesn’t have a carpet so it was easy to forget about it. CONVENIENCE STORE, GROCERY I went to these places which are close to the hotel: (1) Chiz Wilfrid - a small convenience store in the basement, a good place to buy water (2) Subway - If you’re a fan, you’ll frequent this place, I’m not. One tuna sub is enough. (3) Jardin Mobile - there’s a grocery store, café, fast food etc here. I should have visited this often. It’s a short walking distance from the hotel. (4) Épicerie Richard - it’s closer to Frontenac, I stopped by here almost every night to buy strawberries, chips, and water FAST FOOD The McDonald’s and Tim Hortons are the only fast food I’ve seen in Old Quebec. I stopped by McDonald’s twice and was surprised to see poutine, of course, where else. Fortunately, there’s veggie burger and fillet burger which pair well with tea. TL;DR If you want to save time, energy, and money I think Unilofts is a good choice especially of its good location. I still think the price for 5 nights (CAD 1,000 +) is pricey. Just like in Vancouver and Toronto. Maybe travel in off season.
