Hotel les Mimosas Tabarka

Stayed here for the second time. The first time was in the "new" building (you have to climb some stairs, but it's connected to the main building), this time in the main building. Compared to the new building, the main building has some more charm. Our room was larger than one in the new building, but it did not have a balcony. The view from the window was fantastic! You can see the fort and a large section of the shoreline. The location can't be beat: it is right next to where transport stops/goes and on a hill, providing excellent views. Walk to the beach in ca. 10 minutes through a lively city center. We found the room nice, only there were some spots in the bathroom that are possibly mold. The room could really use renovation, but that seems to go for a lot of hotels in Tunisia. Staff is friendly and willing to accomodate. Special requests are done quickly and with pleasure. There is a pool but in February it was definitely too cold to swim. Breakfast was good and varied, although very sweet. It would be great if there are some more non-sweet options. I recommend the 'droo' (sorghum), it's the only 'local' dish at breakfast and it tastes great (albeit, once again, a little sweet). Normally it's a buffet,but I think there were too few people, so they served us a plate (see attached picture). We did not have dinner at the hotel (there are plenty of local options). We greatly enjoyed our time here. For the price, it is a must visit (especially compared to the competition). If it were more expensive, however, I feel a renovation (inside) would be necessary to justify the price. Overall a great value stay in a lovely seatown!

Great hotel with the most amazing views and lovely pool and gardens. This place is great value for money and very conveniently placed within easy walking distance of many restaurants.

The main building harks back to 1895 and there is a mini museum of old photos on the ground floor which was interesting to see the days of it being a grand hunting lodge. We stayed two extra nights as we felt well looked after and the pool though chilly was lovely. Furnishings etc in the room are old fashioned but the view from 301 , where apparently Habib Bourguiba stayed, with huge balcony was outstanding. Perfect for a few relaxed days and easy walk to a number of restaurants in town. Extremely cheap for what is on offer. Well done and thank you to all the staff.

The location was perfect, and the cleanliness throughout the property was impressive. Breakfast options were delightful and the food was really tasty. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.
