    This may seem like a steal, but I paid a good deal more than expected in amenity fees that were not visible anywhere in my booking. Worse: When I swiped my card, I was not made aware that it would be charged these fees, and I did not get a receipt at check-out. Only after I realised my credit card had been charged did I inquire, and was told about this fee. I could honestly have missed it, which seems to be the point. The rooms are OK, and the price, even including the hidden fees, would be fair. There would have been no reason for the unpleasant surprise. I assume the charge is posted somewhere, otherwise it would be illegal in the state of California. But it was hidden well enough that it completely caught me by surprise.
