I love this hotel! It is easy to find, directly by a vaporetto stop, a fairly direct trip to St Mark’s Square but on the less touristy Durodorso side of the canal. It is NOT a typical commercial chain hotel. The room was comfortable and small. There is not A/C. If warm, you turn on the overhead fan and open the window to catch the sea breeze. You also get the street noise of people passing by and the intermittent water taxi.
The bed was comfy, the rooms were scrupulously clean and the neighborhood (especially on the side down the Canal) is quiet. Our rooms had a nice view of the Grand Canal and Ponte Della Accademia.
This is a great choice for seasoned travelers who like to feel like a native Venetian and be close to the major attractions. It is a poor choice for mobility impaired people (but so is all of Venice) or folks who demand a typical commercial hotel arrangement We are in our 60-70s and had no trouble getting around.
