Place was clean and well-kept, and staff were very helpful. The room was a little bit smaller than those shown on the listing, but still fairly comfortable. Possibly other hotels with better value, but fairly decent value for money

I recently stayed at the Floris Hotel in Rome, and unfortunately experienced a very distressing incident during my visit. My personal travel documents were stolen from inside my hotel room, and despite immediately reporting the matter to the hotel reception and filing a police report, the management’s response was disappointing. While the front desk staff were consistently polite and professional, I have not received any formal written acknowledgment or statement from the hotel management regarding the incident, even after several days of follow-up. Each time I inquired, I was told that someone would contact me “shortly,” yet no one ever did. This lack of communication has caused significant inconvenience, as I needed formal documentation to proceed with embassy and travel-related procedures in order to resume my duties abroad. I fully understand that internal investigations take time, but when a theft occurs inside a guest’s private room, a prompt and transparent response from management should be a basic standard of hospitality. In addition to the incident, I would like to note some practical observations about the property itself. The hotel is located in an old building where several other hotels occupy the lower floors, and Floris Hotel is situated on the fourth floor. There is ongoing construction near the entrance, which may cause some disturbance to arriving guests. The lift is very small, accommodating only one or two people with limited luggage. On a positive note, the staff were courteous and professional throughout my stay, and the room was well prepared and clean, showing attention to detail in presentation. However, I did notice some visible marks on the walls, possibly left by previous guests, which could be improved with minor maintenance. Overall, while the hotel’s staff were kind and the rooms comfortable, the management’s handling of a serious theft incident and lack of formal response have left me very disappointed. I share this review not out of anger, but to inform future guests to take precautions and to encourage the hotel’s management to strengthen their security procedures, communication, and guest support in situations of this nature.
