Great value for you money.

Hotel is quite hard to find because you have to go through a small street first but location is ok — near transpo! Also, the staff is very helpful but take note there is no elevator but there is a dumbwaiter for your luggage from the 2nd floor onwards.

Loc: very close to subways, bus stops (inc. Airport bus), shops, and restaurants. Walking distance to Myeongdong and Insadong. Very convenient location but not very busy. Near the river and local markets. Room size is a bit small. Although i must say it is clean. Aircon works fine. Sockets are plenty (there's a daiso nearby if you forgot to bring adaptors). There is a TV in the room although I had a hard time operating it since characters in the remote are in Korean. WiFi is availble in all floors and is dependable. They do not allow early check in BUT you can leave your luggage before check in and after check out. Although the room and hallway have cctv camera, the luggage/storage room is quite accessible to anyone so I suggets youndo not leave valuable items. Bed is good for two and sheets are clean. Although pillows are not fluffy anymore and a bit worn out. There is a table beside the bed. Ammenities provided: bath soap, shampoo, small towels that can get changed daily. Indoor and bathroom Slippers also provided. Toothbrush and other items available outside in the hallway. Bathroom is clean. Water pressure is strong even in the 5th floor. hot and cold shower available. Room also has a cabinet with plenty of hangers. A small refrigerator unit is also present. Kitchen is free to use. Water refill is provided here. You can also cook and use their utensils. They allow usage of washing machine and dryer with a small fee (3k krw each). There is a rooftop with some table and chairs. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms. Only major downside is that there is no elevator and the hostel is on the 3rd to 5th floor. Not recommended fotlr people with mobility issues. Overall this is a very good hostel if you are on a budget.

The location and room+bathroom set up is everything you would need as a solo traveler, super convenient. HOWEVER. There is a health risk due to an awful problem with black mold. Initially it was a very strong smell for x 4 days which I thought must be typical for all the rooms given the small+room+poor ventilation. Then on day 5 a large amount of black mold spilled out of the drain after a shower. I only had night left when I was moved into another room without noticeable mold. $3 laundry fee was waived. Lesson learned for me about bringing up issues immediately instead of enduring (people pleasing nature). If you have a compromised immune or mold allergies, strongly recommend against, book at your own risk.
