Assembly Hotel Leicester Square

We had a great 2-night stay at Assembly Hotel Leicester Square. The location is excellent, right in the heart of London and within walking distance of Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Soho, and many theatres, restaurants, and tube stations. It made exploring the city very convenient. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. Although it was compact, it had everything we needed for a short city break. The bed was comfortable, and despite being in such a busy area, the room was surprisingly quiet at night. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and check-in and check-out were quick and hassle-free. The only thing to note is that the rooms are on the smaller side, so if you’re travelling with lots of luggage or staying for a longer period, it may feel a little cramped. However, for a short stay in central London, it’s excellent value for money. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located hotel in central London.

**Assembly Hotel London – 3/5 Stars** Overall, my experience at Assembly Hotel was okay. The staff were kind, understanding, and did their best to help resolve the issues we experienced, but there were enough problems that I would be more cautious about booking here again. When I arrived, I believe I was given the wrong room. I booked a Cozy Double Room, and based on the photos online, there appeared to be enough space to walk around both sides of the bed and store multiple suitcases. However, the room I was initially assigned (Room ***) was much smaller than expected and did not resemble the photos. There wasn't enough room for our luggage, which made the stay uncomfortable. Unfortunately, Room *** also had several maintenance issues. The shower door would not fully close, the power socket next to the bed didn't work, some of the lights were not functioning properly, and the bathroom drain clogged after only one use. We had just arrived, brushed our teeth, changed for a concert at Wembley Stadium, and left for the evening. When we returned, the drain was still clogged. Initially, we considered canceling our stay because of the room size, but we weren't sure if the issue was a booking error or a room assignment error. The staff told us on our first night that we could upgrade our room the next day after 11:00 a.m. However, when we checked around 8:00 a.m., we were told that option was no longer available because the room had been booked. After speaking with the front desk a couple more times and explaining that the room we were in did not seem to match what we had reserved, they were able to move us to Room *** on our second day. Room *** was much more in line with what I originally expected and what I believe I had booked. I also want to emphasize that I don't blame the staff for the maintenance issues. Everyone we spoke with was professional, patient, and genuinely tried to find a solution for us, which I really appreciated. My biggest suggestion for the hotel would be to include the actual room dimensions on the booking page. The photos alone don't accurately communicate how small some of the rooms are, and having measurements would help guests know exactly what they're booking and set realistic expectations. Overall, the staff made a difficult situation much better, but the room discrepancies and maintenance issues affected our stay. If you plan to book here, I'd recommend paying close attention to the room type and being prepared for very compact accommodations.

AC unit was not working on the room that was given to us. They gave us another room on the same floor but the AC was still not working. Reported it again the following day and it was not repaired. They provided a new room with AC but it was a room category lower that what I booked. Another guest was complaining that the AC on their room is not working. Make up room service is not offered and is one day delayed when you request for one. No fridge and TV in any of the rooms. There was one front desk staff who was sarcastic when being talked to. I observed how she sarcastically answered another guest. The only good thing is their location.

Very convenient to travel to every places within walking distance like train stations, restaurants and top destinations
