Andaman Princess Resort & Spa

I found the hotel to be the perfect location for our relaxing four day break. The staff were super helpful, the room was big and light with lovely views of the well maintained gardens and it was a 2 min walk to the beach. Wonderful.

The Andaman Princess is a great place to stay if you want a quiet getaway. The property has a faded glory feel. It must have been brilliant when it first opened. It’s now in need of some serious refurbishment. The villa we stayed in was good, despite the jacuzzi bath not working properly, the plumbing needs addressing (water didn’t stay hot, ran warm after a short while). The control for the bath is by the window, which meant you have to climb into the bath to switch on the tap and shower head.? The separate shower is good, but the water doesn’t drain very quickly, so if you have a long shower, you’re left standing in a cm of water. If you try and drain the bath, sink or shower at the same time, or two together, the water will not drain quickly and one will stay filled until the other has emptied. There are no blinds on the entrance doors to the villa, so other guests can see into the living space, especially at night. The bed was very comfortable. The pool is nice, and the water is clean, though the pool is missing a number of tiles. All the fountains don’t work. The breakfast is generally good. Except the “juices” which were basically coloured sugar water! The gym had no working equipment, (there are some weights) and there wasn’t any air conditioning (they installed one after I mentioned this fact to the reception 3/4 times. Unfortunately, they finished installing the unit on the day we checked out! The pool table needs to be replaced! They have a “spa” area where you can get a massage. There’s a bar and restaurant by the pool. The beach is wonderful and deserted. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the service is good. The resort provide a free shuttle to and from the pier (they will arrange a free pickup and drop off to the mainland when you check in and check out). Be aware that the resort hosts a lot of Russian's, some of which are very rude and ignorant (peasants probably!) you have to get up early to get a sun lounger by the pool, as the Russian’s put their towels on the loungers to reserve them for the whole day! Sometimes they’re not present for 3/4 hours at a time!. The pictures of the resort you see on booking platforms were taken when the resort was built. That said, we would go back for the peace and quiet, it was very relaxing.

Very nice. Jacuzzi tub in room did not work, that was disappointing. There is a boat ride to island, which I didn’t realize when booking. But, they run frequent & very easy. It’s an 8 minute walk from pier. Beautiful quiet area. Staff not very accommodating. Have to leave key at desk if you want room cleaned. I had a later pick up and they wouldn’t allow me to have a late check out. Nice breakfast buffet. Pool was amazing. Very comfortable stay overall
