Honestly one of those places you just slow down without trying. The view over the sea is incredible (especially at sunset), and the rooms are super calm, minimal, and well-designed. Service is spot on, friendly but not over the top. The breakfast is obviously a highlight!

We only stay here when visiting San Sebastian as it’s hard to be anywhere else once you have had stayed at Akelarre. It really is a slice of paradise in accommodation, design and of course the food offer. We only wish it had an outdoor pool for the summers then we would never leave.

The design of the rooms is the star here, along with the views. But everything else is just at an outstanding level, including upbeat, lighthearted, confident service. I'd add an outdoors hot tub to the spa, given the beauty of the place, but otherwise its hard to find a fault.
