    Great place to get over jet lag before commencing the Camino

    We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July 2025 and had an unforgettable great experience. We originally booked city view room, but reception staff was super nice and upgraded our room to ocean view room without extra charge! What a surprise and great start! When we entered the room, it was a breath taking view from balcony. Besides the view, the room was very clean and well maintained. My son loved the old fashioned steam punk style elevator. The hotel has two bicycles you can use for free and they were so convenient. We highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay again in the future.

    Hotel Niza could be so much more unfortunately. It seems they ride on their location and are letting the place deteriorate a little. Unless you are lucky enough to book a sea view or balcony room - the other rooms are definitely not worth the price. I was shocked to arrive and see a stain right in front of the middle of the towels in the bathroom. I don’t know how any house keeping could miss this as it was right in the centre on display! When reception came to see it - rather than be embarrassed and apologise she tells me oh there was someone in your room fixing the toilet and he must have done this!!! I couldn’t believe she was even telling me this story - whether it. Is true or not. You should know how to articulate in that scenario. But it led me to believe it was a false story because when I then said the phone doesn’t work to call you down stairs. She didn’t listen to me and just says you have to press 9. I attempted to tell her that I did and that the issue was in fact there is not even a dial tone. She proceeds to tell me that it’s normal for there to be no dial tone! Omg! I said well how do you then press 9 with no dial tone?!! Finally she agreed it wasn’t working and would send a technician - to which they never did. Unfortunately what is a pretty hotel and in arguably one of the best locations on La concha are let down by the daytime reception staff that are all cold, no smiles, no greeting and generally aggressive or somewhat yelling. I can commend the young girls on in the evening. She was the only pleasant one despite doing grave yard shift. She even helped me knowing I was unwell. Where as the day shift are all just moody. The bar and restaurant staff are all nice though. Helpful and just nice so it’s like night and day between the two staff and locations of the hotel. Upon checkout and collecting my luggage, the lady wouldn’t even take note of receiving my ticket. And so I ended up putting it on the counter in front of her and leaving with my bag - so anyone could have taken my Luggage and they didn’t care. It was a sad disappointment to what is such a beautiful little hotel.
