    I really loved this hotel. First the location is great, it's in a quiet residential area, but still just 10 minutes from Abai metro station and the old Almaty city area. Located south east of the main city district, it also avoids most of the traffic when getting around Almaty, especially if going towards the mountains, anywhere east, or to much of the city center. The staff where also very pleasant to interact with. The rooms were clean and quaint, with both the hallways and the rooms themselves carpeted. Compared to a regular hotel the rooms had a simply made clean bed, but without all the covers and sheets a full hotel would have. Also missing was a TV (but then who actually uses them those days?). One of the rooms I got also had a mini fridge which is a nice to have to keep drinks and what not cold. Final recommendation: the attic rooms are very quaint with their sloping roofs. However their shower and water pressure aren't as good as the second floor, and they also heat up more on hot days from the sun hitting the roof. If given the option next time I would choose something on the second or first floor to avoid those problems.
