About this cabin rental
Welcome to Wind in the Pines Cabin, just a short walk from tranquil Lake Algonquin. Located in a quiet mountain community of Wells, New York, come and stay with us as you relax and recharge among the wonders of the Adirondack Mountains. We have maintained the rustic character of this historic 1945 cabin, while still providing a comfortable place for families to rest and recharge.
The cabin is cozy, but doesn't feel "small." The large front porch is an extension of the living space.
There are two single kayaks and a tandem kayak available, along with carts, paddles and PFDs. There is a gas grill and many outdoor games. The fire pit has ADK chairs and a swing for your quiet evenings of family, friends and conversation. We also have a hammock for the ultimate in relaxation.
The garage is available for guests to use for locked storage. So bring your bikes! We even have the tire pump!
There are MANY hiking trails close by, including the Northville-Lake Placid Trail, making this an ideal spot to "step off." The variety of trails in the area mean that even children can "take a hike."
The updated kitchen is fully equipped (range, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, k-cup). There is a small work desk with even a built in charging station.
There is new or refinished flooring throughout the cabin. The main bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed. The spacious porch has an almost silent ceiling fan, and a futon. The storm doors have retractable screens. Custom curtains and new screens have been added to the windows.
There is central air conditioning for those sultry summer days. The gas logs in the original river stone fireplace add ambiance and warmth on those chilly mornings and nights.
We have games, puzzles and books just for the kids! There is a Blu-ray player, with a selection of DVDs, plus a Smart TV with many steaming channels for those rainy days, keeping the kids entertained. The internet has been upgraded to 500 mbps.
Guests will need to bring their own bedding, bath and/or beach towels. We provide all basic paper products, cleaning supplies, complimentary k-cups, condiments and other items to make you feel welcome.
The town of Wells has convenience stores at each end of town, but it is only a 20 minute drive to the larger towns of Northville and Speculator, where there are grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations and department stores.

So cute!! Cabin was decorated so cute and cozy! Husband and wife will BOTH feel right at home on this trip, Great, even if you have a child or two. Lots of games, puzzles and toys for all ages. The built on porch great for adults to till open window and have quiet time, or teens to have their own space to talk, listen to music and play games or kids to run around and be loud. It’s also ga great place to come together to eat the food you grill if you want to eat inside instead of sitting around outside around the fire pit! You’ll love it! Hosts are very responsive. WiFi is good, Cell phone signal is spotty up here, but our Verizon worked good at the cabin and in the towns around- just not in between towns. Have fun!Thanks so much guys for an awesome trip!!

The cabin was comfortable and well equipped. The location was good for our needs. There was an issue with the gas fireplace, but Paul helped us work through it. We will stay again if we return to the area.

This was our third time staying here and we still really enjoy it. The place is exactly what it looks like from the listing. We had a minor issue shortly after we arrived, but called the hosts and it was cleared up immediately. If you want a small cabin in the southern Adarondacks that's on a pretty lake and close to some lovely waterfalls, you can't go wrong with this place.

Great place to stay! Comfortable and well taken care of, with a good kitchen and cozy living room. Not too far from some amazing walks and hikes.
