About this cabin rental
Welcome to Wind in the Pines Cabin, just a short walk from tranquil Lake Algonquin. Located in a quiet mountain community of Wells, New York, come and stay with us as you relax and recharge among the wonders of the Adirondack Mountains. We have maintained the rustic character of this 1945 cabin, while still providing a comfortable place to rest and recharge.
There are two single kayaks and a tandem kayak available, along with carts, paddles and PFDs. There is a gas grill and many outdoor games. The fire pit has two chairs and a swing for your quiet evenings of family, friends and conversation. We also have a hammock for the ultimate in relaxation.
The garage is available for guests to use for locked storage. So bring your bikes! We even have the tire pump!
There are MANY hiking trails close by, including the Northville-Lake Placid Trail, making this an ideal spot to "step off." The variety of trails mean that the whole family can "take a hike."
The updated kitchen is fully equipped (range, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, k-cup). There is a small work desk with even a built in charging station.
There is new or refinished flooring throughout the cabin. The main bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed. The spacious porch has an almost silent ceiling fan, and a futon. The storm doors have retractable screens. Custom curtains and new screens have been added to the windows.
There is central air conditioning for those sultry summer days. The gas logs in the original river stone fireplace add ambiance and warmth on those chilly mornings and nights.
We have games, puzzles and books just for the kids! There is a Blu-ray player, with a selection of DVDs, plus a Smart TV with many steaming channels for those rainy days. The internet has been upgraded to 500 mbps.
Guests will need to bring their own bedding, bath and/or beach towels. We will provide all basic paper products, cleaning supplies, complimentary k-cups, condiments and other items to make you feel welcome.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was quaint and cozy, and only a short distance from the beautiful lake! We really appreciated that our rental included kayaks to enjoy the fall weather. If we are in the area again, we will definitely plan to stay at this cabin.

Property is in a secluded neighborhood. Which is very quiet. I was a little disappointed because I really could not see the lake that well from the property. It is quite close though. The cabin does have a slight odor because it is closed down for the winter months. It was clean except it does need a cobweb cleaning. The host was very nice and friendly. We did enjoy our stay.
