About this house rental
This 4 season getaway home is located on beautiful Canada Lake within the Adirondack State Park. The property includes an indoor porch overlooking the water, along with an open porch are perfect places to enjoy your morning coffee. Amenities include outdoor fire pit, grill, dishes and cooking supplies, coffee maker, washer and dryer, and indoor gas stove.
You can enjoy swimming, fishing and boating in the summer, right from your private dock. Visitors can bring their own boat or rent one nearby from the lake Marina. Nick Stoner Golf course and a brand new mountain bike trail system is is less than 2 miles away. Plenty of hiking trails throughout the area, including the fire tower on popular Kane Mountain, which you can start the hike right from your backyard. Fall foliage is breathtaking in mid Sept through mid October, and winter activities include snow shoeing, sledding, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling. The house is located right on the main corridor snowmobile trail. No need to trailer anywhere else. I would be remiss if I did not mention downhill skiing at local Royal Mountain (10 minutes), Oak Mountain (40 minutes), and Gore Mountain (80 minutes).

We had a great stay at the lake house! The communication from the owner was fantastic - very responsive. And it was very clean. We've stayed at older properties before and they aren't usually the cleanest. But that's not the case here. Everything was clean and working as it should. A great experience all around!

The owner was very kind and communicative. We needed a place to stay when our original plans had fallen through. John was quick to reply, and we were lucky to find this available. The property was clean and spacious. It had everything we needed and is located in a beautiful spot. It would be nice to return in warmer weather!

We loved this house! My family of 4, with 2 boys (8 & 10), stayed a long weekend in January to get away on an adventure, and this house on Canada Lake was perfect! It is right on the lake with a fully glassed rear patio overlooking it all. The patio is heated by a gas fireplace adjoining the family room, for a great mountain ambience. The owners made sure to leave bits of entertainment around for the kids to find and the family to play - board games (I haven't play "Life" in decades), a guitar, binoculars, books, TV with movie channels and DVD player (with a selection of DVD's) - though hide and seek was the indoor highlight. Then there's the outside - the lake freezes solid in the winter, and becomes everyone's backyard. So around 9am the ice fishermen begin setting up their tents in the distance, cross country skiiers go by, and eventually snowmobiles zip around. The owner, John, was kind enough to loan us some sleds and shovels, and we created a sledding hill that ended sliding out on the lake, where we’d built our family snow chairs out on the ice. We had about 8in of snow while we were up there, a couple of which came down the morning after we arrived - nice!Everything was neat and clean. The owner also provided us a map of local trails where we could try out our cross country skis, after our initial ski trip across the lake. There was a nice mudroom to stage wet boots and ski wear. The washer and DRYER conveniently located near the front door. Large dining room table, extra blankets, solid internet, fully supplied kitchen, did I say PATIO overlooking the lake!? That’s where we played our games and did our puzzle, and spent a big chunk of our time.We really appreciated the house and the owner’s attentiveness- we came down to breakfast with a plowed driveway and shoveled steps and paths after several inches of snow fell overnight. Thank you, John! We will return again!
