The marvelous breakfasts from atop the castle wall of Iljesa is perhaps the greatest memory of our two week trip to Albania. The setting is over-the-top beautiful with the sun rising over Mount Tomorrow the food is plentiful and fresh with omlette with vegetables and feta, bread and orange cake, local fresh fruits, juices and cappuccino. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was fun to explore the smaller lanes of the castle. The restaurant was great for the lunch and dinner we had there as well.
It's a long step walk up and down from the rest of the city, but it was great exercise!

Staying overnight inside castle walls was fun. Cosy and comfy. Very friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you. I cannot say enough about the AMAZING huge breakfast...homecooked egg omelette plus lots more!. I loved that the lady served us a plate of fresh garden veges then picked basil off the nearby bush to top it off!
Just be prepared to walk uphill a wee bit....not an issue...to be expected around a castle!

This is a great little guest house. The rooms and decor throughout are very traditional and suited to the location inside the castle walls. The family were lovely and welcoming. The view from terrace was fabulous. Can’t fault it for authentic Berat experience. The breakfast was fabulous in wonderful surroundings. Thank you.
Staying up in the castle walls is a great experience but eating out and nightlife options limited. Great for our one night stay.
