The Hut

No breakfast but not an issue for me.

The location is lovely and quiet with a really nice view, the log burner was easy to use and there were logs left for us to use. The shepherd’s hut was nice and clean for our arrival even when we arrived early and there was a little kitchen area with shower and toilet to use too a short walk away. Staff were very welcoming and showed us where we needed to go when we arrived.

The shower and toilet had quite a few spiders in when we arrived which we got rid of ourselves. There are geese and ducks wondering around so you have to avoid their poo everywhere on the way to and from the utility area and shower and toilet - could be easier to have a toilet & shower nearer to avoid this maybe? The decking also got very wet after it rained and then was very slippery as a result and my partner did actually slip over, luckily didn’t do any damage but it’s a hazard after it rains so maybe needs a clean and to be adjusted to help with this.

I loved everything about The Hut, it's location and amazing views, all the animals ( I really loved the cuddles from Spike and Loki the owners dogs) super friendly and the place was so peaceful, pure bliss. I loved the fact that the hut had no electricity and was lit by candle light. Waking up to the animals and sunrise was utterly amazing and beautiful. We really enjoyed spending quality time together surrounded by nothing but nature.

The only thing I didn't like was having to leave and go home at the end of our stay

we loved the animals, the bed was very comfy, shower was impressive. scenery and location was great. helpful neighbour, full of information about what was going on during our visit.

noisy clanging at night, something metal lose around the hut maybe. towels not changed in 4 days or anything else topped up. batteries in torch nearly ran out, no matches available for the candles. hair brush full of hair from previous visitor.
