The property’s location was perfect, away from the main streets of Ubud. We needed a location like this that was peaceful and more close with nature.

I think it needed a bit of maintenance, but it was all still manageable and working. Just a few things were loose but nothing major.

A lovely stay

Such a wonderful stay. Treated myself after staying so long in hostels and it was total luxury. Hidden away from the chaos of Ubud but still very accessible via scooter. Walking distance from some nice local restaurants too. My room had a view of the pool surrounded by beautiful flowers and bushes. It looked like a hidden oasis. The room was airconditioned, well t and had a very comfortable bed with mosquito net, though I didn't use it. Breakfast was exceptional as well as general service. Also rented a scooter from them at a very good price. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect would stay again

Stunning peaceful and tranquil location outside of the main Ubud town centre but still very easy to get to back to the centre if required. Some cafes and restaurants are a short walk away. Staff were helpful and friendly, and provided complimentary breakfasts in the morning. They helped set up airport transfers and a tour. The tour was done by Buda who took us around Ubud to some excellent locations in the area.

Accommodation close to jungle

The accommodation is not accessible by car, and even getting there by scooter is difficult. The access road is a narrow concrete path through rice fields. Wi-Fi was free and of good quality. It was possible to pay by card, with the usual 3% fee, as is common throughout Bali. The accommodation offers drivers, trips, and general assistance. The pool was refreshing. At night, you can hear only the sounds of the jungle.

Unfortunately, the roof and walls are not well sealed, and there should be a mosquito net in the room. In the Ubud area in July, there were quite a lot of mosquitoes, so we had to use repellent. At first glance, the accommodation looks clean. However, along the floor where the sliding door opens, there were gecko droppings (poo). Unfortunately, geckos also left traces on the bed, and when we returned from a trip, there was a small pile of droppings right next to the bed. The room had already been cleaned before our arrival.

Amazing place to stay. Definitely recommend if your planning on staying in Ubud

The staff were amazing, the rooms very spacious and very clean. The location is great only a 10 min drive into the centre.

Nothing really to complain about, except the bathroom door is very loud. But being honest that really didn’t stop us from enjoying our stay in the slightest.

Wonderful and Peaceful Stay

The location was absolutely beautiful and well-maintained — just far enough from the urban chaos to offer peace and quiet. The staff was extremely kind and helpful throughout the stay, always making sure we felt welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. Overall, a lovely experience. Highly recommended!

A heartfelt and restful stay with the kindest host and the best sleep of our trip

Mr. Buda is the kindest person I met in Ubud—deeply respected, incredibly attentive, and so helpful with everything we needed (even forgiving me for losing his helmet!). His place is welcoming and spotless, and I had the best sleep of my entire vacation there. The breakfast was delicious and generous. It was super peaceful and quiet, and I’m truly grateful for meeting Mr. Buda. If we ever return to Ubud, we’ll definitely stay at his cottages again!

Tranquil and relaxing

Beautiful peaceful location with friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms are very clean and have lovely views of the garden.

Only thing was the bed was a bit firm but this is more down to personal preference.

Very peaceful atmosphere, loved the beautiful garden and pool area. Staff was always very friendly. Rooms were clean and I like the semi-open bathroom. We also rented a scooter from Buda Cottage. Breakfast was good too. Would Definately stay again - Thanks

Very clean and beautiful cottage! Staff were lovely, however did not appreciate the chaotic children

The pool was lovely, the facilities in general were so so clean and nice. They cleaned our rooms each day and were very accomodating organising massages, scooters and breakfast. The owner offered us everything we would need in Bali including drivers, tours and more. You could rely on them for your whole stay if you like.

The owner had such a beautiful place, and was understandably quite controlling over it. If we wanted to go in the pool after a certain time he would come and turn it on. Very kind just personally I felt as we had a larger group with some young kids that Buda did not enjoy us being there. I would only recommend this property to couples or people with no chaotic kids. We also asked in advanced about having vegan food, however, like many people in Bali, when we arrived they did not know what that meant. It led to some awkwardness and it seemed we were inconveniencing them and received some early judgements. Far from the city 15 minutes ride.

Peaceful place with beautiful and kempt territory.

The property is great, located in a very quite place, surrounded with rice field. Room was large, same with a bathroom. The territory was green and beautiful, can’t stop thinking photos. Staff was amazing and careful. I like the teras as well, you can stay and breathe fresh air. Owner was great and very helpful.

The toilet could be more clean. And you can see the building is not new.

Great comfortable stay.

Very nice pool in the courtyard where one can have a some quiet relaxation time. Very friendly and helpful staff providing any service needed, from tips to scooter rental etc. Room was large with a separate kitchen. Nice bathroom. Rather big spacious desk for working. Location is great in terms of being close to the center of ubud, while away from all the noise.

Cozy cottages with an amazing staff!

The staff was amazing! Very polite and helpful. Special thanks to Buda who was so kind and helped us with everything we needed. Moreother, he and staff speak english. Food was also tasty. We had several breakfast options: omlette, scrambled eggs (our top), fried eggs and banana pancakes, coffee/tea. The rooms were cleaned every day. The cottages are much more beautiful than on photos in Booking :) The view from breakfast area is also amazing!

Unfortunately the sound insulation is poor so we could hear everything from outside. But it’s understandable because cottages are close to each others.

Perfect stay !

We had the best stay at Buda Cottage. The location is perfect, in a calm area, out of Ubud's crazy traffic. The cottages are very nice and clean, the garden was beautiful and really well maintained, as well as the pool. The breakfast included is from far the best we had at a hotel in Bali ! Special thanks to the manager and whole staff who helped us rent a motorbike, do our laundry, get Balinese coffee and also accepted to keep our luggages while we were on a few days roadtrip to Munduk. The manager is absolutely amazing, honest and friendly, was waiting for us when we arrived (after 10pm) and who upgraded us when we reported that our AC was not working ! Absolutely recommend this place !

Comfortable room, nice breakfast and quiet area.

The owner made me feel quite uncomfortable because he was pressuring us to book our transportation through him all the time. He asked us where we had booked, the price, etc. for the transportation that we’ve already booked. So we feel constantly controlled.

You will find the same issues with every single property where you go in Bali, no matter how much money you pay. Gekkos here and there but not often. If you go to Bali , get used to these creatures 🙏

Beautiful and calm location between rice fields

Beautiful location, so friendly and lovely stuff, very nice and well maintained pool. Tasty breakfast options, clean room and not far away from the center of Ubud. The shared kitchen is also well maintained, clean and have everything you need for cooking your own meals. We had a great stay for 2 weeks here.

The room is small, not much space and also not a lot of privacy (close to the other rooms), but for us was ok for some days.

Love the pool and the gardens, so peaceful & no barking dogs or roosters. Good place to chill. Breakfast was better than most places we've been. Yes, it was clean.

Location was gorgeous, in the middle of rice fields and jungle near by, with monkeys. The staff was friendly and kind to us. Decent breakfast, 5 options with eggs and banana pancakes. The pool and outdoor area is well maintained and looks great. Clean spacious room. Good internet.

Because you are in middle of the nature there we're a lot of lizards that entered the room thorugh the roof, and if you are not accustomed to them, they are terrifying. The sink was clogged and old shower.

it was my favorite stay in Ubud by far hidden from the central crowds, very nice and beautiful little garden with a perfect pool, good breakfast and welcoming people working there, i was able to extend my stay and move to a better room without extra cost 🌱
