Very nice place in a quite and beatiful environment

Very nice place. Good room. Good kitchen - we stayed for 50 days and cooked almost every day. There is a laundry 200m away. The place is strategic for reaching touristic points north of Ubud. There are around 5 good restaurants nearby. Very quiet environment - around 3 km from the Ubud center. We rent a scooter 300m from the guesthouse.

We missed more kitchen utensils - mainly plastic storage containers and maybe another cooking pan. It is a bit far from Ubud for those who do not want to rent a scooter or ask for a grab all the time.

Perfect getaway in the middle of rice paddies

the guest house is beautiful tradicional Balinese style, surrounded by rice fields, close to Ubud centre but away from the busy noisy area, bed was big and comfortable, shower was good, Wayan and Putu were so friendly I felt like part of the family.

The room lights are quite dim.

We loved this place, everything was great and Wayan, Ketut and Madin (sorry if I didn’t write the names correctly) were very nice with us. We feel at home and we really recommend this cottage. Its warung is also amazing.

Exceptional

Location was terrific, away from the busy centre of Ubud, out amongst the rice paddies. Walking along the country roads there, meeting some locals and enjoying the countryside was wonderful. I chose this spot to be near family who were staying in a fancy villa within walking distance, and it worked well.

One of the bed pillows was very lumpy but everything else was terrific.

Good price/quality ratio.

The staff was super welcoming, friendly and nice. It was also really nice to have a coffee in the morning with the views on the rice fields at the Warung of the cottage. Honestly, for such a low price you can't expect much but this place has such a good price/quality balance. Can really recommend it if you are on budget travel.

Home Away from Home

Semanggi Cottage is a hidden gem in Ubud. Spacious room, utterly peaceful surrounding, humble and cheerful hosts and crew, the soothing sound of music be it the morning quaks by flock of ducks or nightly croaks by the frogs, rhapsody by insects from time to time. This is the home away from home. My perfect day always started with the delicious breakfast by Made and Ketut's cooking satisfied my appetite the most with no msg. I never got tired of taking meal at Semanggi Cottage. I also appreciate the opportunities to have good chat with both Wayan and Ketut. Getting to meet them forms part of my happy moments in Ubud beyond words. Superb!!!

Lovely

Staff here were amazing, let us check in early for free once our room was ready. Food was lovely, paid extra for breakfast included, choice of banana pancake or omelette and comes with a fruit salad and tea or coffee. Bed was fairly comfortable, nice swimming pool just in the shade for most of the day, next to some rice fields which is lovely to look out to 😊 We got Bali belly whilst here and the owner gave us some tablets to help which was nice of them. Would 100% recommend and come back though if we returned to the area

We didn't have a bike and the location is no where near any shops or restaurants really without having to walk quite far out on dangerous roads or get a taxi so not the best place to stay without your own transport but okay if you have. If you're a light sleeper like me the crickets are so noisy due to being surrounded by nature at night and the curtains aren't blackout so you wake up really early

Feels like home

Spacious room, big balcony, outdoor kitchen with the view of rice field. Owner Bapak and Ibu are very hospitable and always smiling. They even upgraded our room. Staff (Ketut) who cleaned our room is super sweet.

Excellent homestay

We stayed at Semanggi cottage for 4 nights. The family was very friendly, helpful and available. The owner brought us to the coffee plantation for free. The room was spacious and it was cleaned everyday. Breakfast was served at the room. We enjoyed our stay 100%. Highly recommended.

I would put tea kettle in the room, but it's not the issue, just suggestion. The rest was excellent.

Relaxing with beautiful scenery, definitely recommend!

It was so peaceful and relaxing there, and our room had beautiful views overlooking a rice field. There were also a couple of super friendly dogs and cats who lived there, they would always greet us when we got back and would visit our room to say hello! If you’re an animal lover, then you’ll love this place for just this reason alone.

The location is a little out of the way, but only less than 15 minute drive to Ubud centre, so it’s fine! Plus that’s what makes it so peaceful, so we were very happy with it! You can also rent a scooter from the property for 70k a day so location isn’t really an issue

Indonesian hospitality and serenity

this was a last-minute booking when the hostel that I had checked into was not honest about their parking situation. I checked in the next day here and the owner stated he had safe car parking. It was taken up by scooters but there was an entire field that I could park in safely. The staff was extremely friendly and if I notified of a problem they immediately fixed it. It’s north of ubud by about eight minutes so you don’t have the hustle and bustle, the traffic, and the noise. The room was huge with a bathroom that had a deep soaker tub. The swimming pool is beautiful. There was also a kitchen set up with a refrigerator stove top sink dishes and cookware. Plus free drinking water. thank you so much for your hospitality!

Very nice accommodation in the middle of the rice fields! We spent 5 nights here and felt like home. The family is friendly and kind, they help you with everything they can! We also liked that they cleaned the room everyday and the breakfast was really good.

Cute nice place in the ricefields for good price and warm family

Really nice peaceful place in the ricefields, at a Balinese local house. Very warm friendly owner and his wife, also staff is such a sweet lady. The room is clean and nice. You can rent a motorbike from the owner and the city center is close. Unfortenately we couldn't use the pool because of the rain, but it really nice in the rice fields. The food is really nice in the lovely little restaurant with sometimes nice Balinese music. Great satay!

The breakfast was one little (delicious) pancake or a baked egg without toast (choose one of them) and coffee or the and a small piece of fruit . For us it was more a small snack than a full breakfast, so everyday we ordered extra but you have to pay for all extra, it's oke because the prices are good and the food is yummy. At night you'll hear a lot of frogs/animals from the ricefields and in the morning the dog, but it's because it's nature. Much better than in the crowdy city center! The place is peaceful. The bed was really hard, but that we have in every hotel so think it's normal. We slept good.

The hotel is very calm and very nice - the room was clean and perfect; close to the rice terrace. The swimming pool is very appreciated also !

The location is not ideal - the hotel being a bit outside the city you depend on taxi drivers twice a day which, considering Grab and Gojek are not an option in Ubud, is a budget.

Very friendly, super clean, lovely room, hot shower. The location is quiet and wonderful green. To the center you need around 10 min by scooter. There is a cute restaurant in the Homestay aswell. Grear value for the money and really recommended :-) Thank you very much.

Accueil agréable et chaleureux, avec une vue superbe depuis la chambre. Le logement est un peu excentré mais c’est ce que nous recherchions pour être au calme, il y a toutefois des petits cafés et restaurants très bien à côté !
