The location is close enough for entertainment, yet far enough away for quiet serenity.

1. Noticed the drapes in the bedroom could of been longer or had some blinds for a bit more privacy.2. No measuring cups or a decent mixing bowl to even mix some instant pancakes. Just kind of had to guess and had to make some smaller batches. Or is there any spatula or type utensils to flip pancakes over. The silverware and drinking cups was kind of on the small side.Bypassed doing instant potatoes one night since no measuring cups.3. Saw pics of the bathroom but didn't imagine it was as small as what it was. Extremely tight in the bathroom/toilet area. Was surprised to see the bottom part of the wall missing for the shower by the toilet.4. Bigger bed was a bit uncomfortable. Could probably use new mattress.5. Flooring etc Is a bit worn, sinks looked aged etc Could use some upgrades.These are some Major items that we noticed.

As I read the description of this cabin the tone was upbeat but also warned that it wouldn't be an upscale stay. We're not so uptight that we can't rough it and I felt like a little fishing cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It would let us be close and have a charming vacation as a family. The price, the location and the reviews all seemed to indicate that this was the best option for my family. Honestly, the location and price are really quite great. However, I do find the reviews rather confusing since staying there a week. I do need to leave an honest review, however. I have no idea why but everything you touch is sticky here. I don't really think it was deep cleaned like we were told. In my head, a deep cleaning means you would smell cleaning agents walking in the door. I would be remiss if I failed to discuss the bathroom. Claustrophobic and dirty is the only real way to describe it. For a tiny family, maybe you could manage but it didn't work for us. You need Olympic level gymnastics just to get anything accomplished. Overall, it did not encourage relaxation and I think without some renovations, it's not somewhere I'd choose to stay again.

Overall, the location of the cabin was perfect distance to all our favorite fishing locations and sites. Cabin was clean, and nice. Our only Con: us being larger people we were unable to fit in the shower &. Using the toilet was like sliding into a infants chair . The bathroom is very small other than that Perfect getaway for 4 people on a fishing trip

Our stay was wonderful. The check in and check out procedures were super easy. The cottage is everything it says it is. Probably last updated in the 1960's and furnished with essentials. It is in a quiet, safe neighborhood. We used bicycles to explore but drove to most fishing areas. There is a nice area to sit outside, weather permitting, with a fire pit to have a campfire. I did not feel safe using the grill. It was in disrepair and on blocks very close to the cottage. The siding was melted from previous guests. I chose to cook on the gas stove provided in the kitchen. It worked great. If you are into fishing and are looking for an affordable simple cottage to hang your hat then you should consider this. Thank you Kelly for renting us your cottage for our vacation with our loved ones! We made some great memories!

WE LIKED THE LOCATION TO THE LAKE, VERY QUIET AND RELAXING. WE DIDN'T LIKE THE BATHROOM BEING SO SMALL AND CURTAINS THAT DON'T GO ALL THE WAY DOWN. WE HAD A HARD TIME FITTING IN THE BATHROOM TO CHANGE. THEY ALSO COULD USE A NEW GRILL. OVERALL WE HAD A GREAT TIME FISHING.

This is the first we have stayed at this property/with this host. There were 5 adult women that called this cottage home for the weekend (annual sisters' camping trip). Kelly checked in with us to make sure every thing met our expectations and she was very accommodating. It was small but cozy. Beds and couch were comfortable. Kitchen had most everything we needed. Outside fire pit was very enjoyable (hope we didn't disturb the neighbors). Would recommend to anyone that is looking for a laid back get-away in the area.

This is a somewhat run down cottage that the owner is remodeling slowly. This is a difficult task. The outside is neat and tidy with a large lot and lovely spreading trees and color flowers. However, the cleanliness inside leaves a bit to be desired. The floor is linoleum or old vinyl which is broken up in one place in the living room. and stained with drips of paint or old glue in other parts of the cottage. Much has been said about the smallness of the toilet area, but I'd like to add a warning that a really large and heavy person probably won't fit in the space between the shower and the sink! I also found that the dishes and pots wore a sheen of grease to be dealt with before preparing food. Also there isn't a 10" or 12".frying pan with a usable non-stick surface. The plates and tableware are pretty slim, due to people most likely taking them home.. It's too bad, because the owner does have some nice furniture , upscale towels, and some pieces of a very nice T-Fal red spot cookware. I love the little kitchen table with a storage in it for 4 wooden folding chairs. It also has a leaf that can be spread to make the table larger. The recliner was quite new and comfy, and the couch was surprisingly comfortable , too.! There's a very nice corner cupboard , and the TV, although small, is smart and fairly new. The stove and fridge worked well. There's also a bar cabinet with a couple of high stools. The owner is slowly making things better. We had hoped that the lake would be a bit closer and easy to use. Our oldest visitor couldn't walk that far and back! All in all, we enjoyed our visit and would recommend it for no more than 4 adults. But as the owner says, this is not the Marriotf!.

The place is a very nice place to stay. Yes, it is an older place but very nice and cozy inside. There are two beautiful trees outside to sit under and a fire ring. Quite area. The property owner was in for the weekend and is very nice and accommodating. It is very close to the lake and the lake is beautiful. We rented a pontoon boat and saw bald eagles flying and landing in trees along the lake. We will definitely rent this place again and again. 👍

My nephew and husband (both older adults) have used this for their yearly fishing trip. Nice place that is very conveniently located. The bonus is the owner, she is overly pleasant to deal with! There are a lot to places to stay be we come back here all due to her.

All I really needed was a CLEAN place to sleep, shower and pack food to take out on the boat with me. Although the cabin was relatively inexpensive, I will not stay again. It truly needs a thorough cleaning and some, what I would call, minor maintenance. Dirty fingermarks on the refrigerator door are a real turnoff. I wouldn't even consider using the coffee pot; I am glad I took my own personal coffee maker. My feet stuck to the floor when I got out of the shower. Fortunately I had my own towels, bed sheets and pillow with me. I used the towels that were provided to keep my feet off of the disgusting floor. The faucet at the old dirty stained kitchen sink leaks and my guess is that the refrigerator hasn't had a good sanitizing cleaning in weeks... Must I go on?! Sure, the owner, who certainly seems to be a very nice person, will say "where's the pictures?". Why should I take pictures?? I just will not go back. Sorry, but I tell the truth!

If your looking for a small cottage to stay at while fishing, this is your place. As the description says, dont expect a high end hotel. But, if you want a clean place to eat and sleep, this is cottage checks those boxes. The only thing that we didnt like is entrance from the road to the property. Its tough to back a boat into the yard due to deep ditches on either side. Not impossible, just a little challenging with a long truck and trailer. Thanks for a nice stay.

Our stay in this cottage went well. The only thing I can say is the bathroom is very small and the bed was a little uncomfortable. The only reason I gave a 4 on the cleanliness was because there was still items left in the refrigerator from a previous guest. Honestly not a big deal though. We just pitched them out. The cottage was perfect for the short time we were there, the location is nice and the area is quiet. It’s less than 5 min away from Espyville and the causeway which made it so much easier for traveling. The owner has a place next door and greeted us the first night which was nice. Kelly and her partner were very pleasant and we had a great conversation with them the day we left. Overall I would recommend this cottage and say we would stay again.
