The accommodations were amazing and I enjoyed the old time cottage feel as well as the yard and guest house. Parking was convenient as we had 2 rental cars and had plenty of space. We were disappointed that the Pub within walking distance is closed. Other than that, we spent time at the Fox at Oddington which was great! We all had a memorable experience celebrating my 50th birthday! Excellent property!

We booked this break as part of my wife's 60th birthday celebrations. The cottage, annexe and gardens were lovely. A great location for exploring the Cotswolds and the local pub, a 5 minute walk, was great for having a drink at the end of the day.

Excellent Location, Lovely Village, Excellent pub. Good Cottage Garden. Old Cotswold Cottage, Comfortable bed. However this was let down because the Cottage was quite grubby and shabby. It could benefit from a deep clean and a freshen up of paint. There was no name of the cottage on the outside of the property which caused some initial confusion. The welcome hamper fell short of the usual Rural retreats standards, the freezer was full of water in every drawer as some had left ice cube bags in there which had broken and defrosted. One of the freezer drawers was badly cracked. the Aga hob was dirty and we had to clean the oven controls before we could see how to turn it on. The legs of 2 of the 6 dining chairs were broken rendering the chairs unusable. The finish of the frying pan was peeling off so not hygienic. Some of the saucepans had food residue which had to be scrubbed off. There were not enough saucepans to cook meals. The lining on the back of the lounge curtains was mouldy. Chipped crockery and pyrex dish had been put back in the cupboard instead of being disposed of. The kitchen and bathroom floors were filthy. Some drawer contained owners belongings instead of being locked away. Overall not of the standard we have been used to from many previous holidays with Rural Retreats.

This turned out well for us; the cottage lived up to its description, the location suited us well, a playground within the five year old's walking distance, even without enough car space to go round we were not limited for walks, sights and shops. The pub in the village did us a very nice celebratory meal. It was the setting for an excellent five days.

We all couldn’t recommend Top Cottage enough. It was our first time in the area and we couldn’t of enjoyed it anymore then we did. It was just perfect for us. A beautiful spot and a lovely home. We feel preivelged to be able to of stayed in such a lovely home and stunning area. We would move tomorrow if we could. Many thanks! X

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Top Cottage. It is well appointed and quirky, with plenty of room for everyone. We had some very wet weather and greatly appreciated the cosy log fire. The annexe is excellent, ideal for anyone who likes their own space. The outside space is very private and pretty. The only negative comment I have is it would be sensible to have dinnerplates that fit into the small dishwasher, they were too large so had to be hand washed.

Top Cottage is delightful and very comfortable. We had a great stay. The house is well equipped and the tiny issue we had was immediately resolved by the local housekeeper coming over. It is warm and cozy for the winter (we stayed in January) but I can imagine the garden would be glorious in the summer. We had a very good meal at The Fox just up the road.

We had an excellent week at Top Cottage, with the highlights being the Cottage itself, lovely and roomy with invaluable space in the Annexe. The layout in the Cottage itself upstairs was a little odd, but we found a way around it and did not negatively impact on our experience at all. It was well equipped for what we wanted, clean and tidy with everything working. Slight issue with a shelf in the fridge and also the freezer, but these are minor and could easily be resolved. Location is brilliant with easy access to Adlestrop, Daylesford, Chipping Norton and of course, lots of lovely walks in the stunning Cotswold countryside for our dogs. The garden was a perfect size too and fully enclosed so no issues with dogs escaping. We stay in the Cotswolds twice a year and would absolutely consider staying here again. A wonderful house.
