Almorah Hotel

It was decorated to a high standard and was exceptionally clean. The communal areas - lounge and terrace garden were lovely to relax in Breakfast was perfect - plenty of choice of continental and cooked breakfast - the owners of the hotel work hard to keep it to a high standard and made it feel like a home from home

I knew from the reviews that it was located on a steep hill so it is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems- although the buses and taxis are excellent But as it is above the town the views over St Helier are lovely

Carlos and Silvia are of incredible kindness, the hotel is very clean, breakfast is excellent and the saloon and the garden give an additional comfort

Carlos and Sylvi were exceptional hosts - always happy to give us information and guidance and both were really friendly.

the walk from the hotel to the harbour and restaurants took around 20 -25mins and we are pretty fit -and uphill on the way back. Taxis were available if you didn't want to walk.

The property is situated on a Hillside Overlooking St Helier No lifts in property It is not ideal for people with Mobility disabilities You definitely would need to hire a car or use Taxis which are expensive Bus Stop round the back of the property However you are Limited with times of the bus More Availability with Bus & times if you use Main Bus Station Liberty Square St Helier Our Room was King Size with Balcony Room no 5 large Room Only 1 small radiator to service the room Which for the first few days we were there it was cold had to ask for additional heating The walls between the 2 King Rooms are paper Thin you could hear TV in the next room talking & worst thing was the loud Snoring @ nighttime If your a light sleeper it’s advisable not to choose these rooms The Mattress was very Firm as I suffer with my back it was impossible for me to sleep I Asked for a Mattress Topper was told they didn’t have any I asked if I could have a Quilt that I could Double up was given one which the cleaner Doubled up for me & put under the bottom sheet I Thanked her for doing that for me but to be honest didn’t make a lot of difference I had read reviews before booking this Hotel & nobody had mentioned the the firmness of the mattress on the beds or would never booked this place Was told by the Man there they are all the same in all rooms people must have cast iron backs or to proud to mention this I have given an honest review of this Hotel & For us I wouldn’t stay again
