Bliss on the beach

we couldnt fault west break, as a family we had two rooms, super reasonable cost, the beds were comfy, breakfast on the beach watching the waves roll in. the peaceful sound of the cow bells dinging away in the paddocks next door , and the distant chime of the mosque. so utterly relaxing. The kids loved the pool and everything was kept beautifully clean. short stroll to Two great eateries. In saying that you probably need a scooter if you wish to venture much further as its just. little bit out of the main area (which is what we wanted).

only one small criticism, the towels provided were thin/old.

A cozy stay with friendly staff and sunrise walks by the sea

I really enjoyed my stay at West Break Bali Medewi. The hotel feels modern yet welcoming, with big, comfortable rooms that have everything you need. There’s a small pool to cool off in and a cozy chill-out area right next to it. The staff were, as always in Bali, genuinely kind and helpful. Breakfast was included and I loved having the choice between Balinese specialties and a more continental style. The location is excellent — just a few steps from the black sand beach, perfect for morning walks at sunrise. Medewi is all about surfing rather than swimming, but for sunsets, Warung Gede is the spot to go. I would definitely recommend this place for a short, relaxing break.

First trip to Jembrana

I stayed in the honeymoon room. Love so much the bathroom, bathtub, the bed, the room..the balcony, TV, swimming pool, billiard, pingpong, food..so basically, everything 😂🥰👍 hope to get back here again for holiday, one day 🤲

The toilet bidet, it was often the water didnt come out not because it was broken, you just need to know the trick, flush and then the water comes out. It's how the jet pump works.

At night the room is not very dark, so bring a night mask if you need dark; hot water may run out if you took too long of a shower

Great cheap option away from main surf break.

Large clean room with air conditioning and a fridge and a big out door inspired bathroom. Nice breakfast. We really enjoyed the ping pong table and pool table that was a fun addition in the common area.

Slippery floors and noisy staff. Staff talking loudly out side our room from early in the morning. Talking to each other playing and laughing . It was also hard to communicate to staff.

Little paradise

Beautiful and cozy place with great attention to detail. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated, and the food is delicious. Perfect location right on the beach. The staff is super friendly – it really felt like a little paradise. Big thanks to Boy, the amazing surf instructor – I learned so much thanks to him!

We booked the honeymoon suite online and it exceeded our expectations. It was probably the nicest room and the nicest bathroom we've had in Bali. This is definitely the best room here. It even has a beautiful bath, not that there's enough hot water to fill it.

Amazing, such a nice place for rest

Loved the stay! Breakfast was great, there were options to take surf classes and the staff was very helpful with booking a taxi. You can also book a scooter to get around. The room is nice and spacious and the airco works well. The location is great for Medewi, near some cafes, amazing massages and and super close to the beach and very calm. Really a spot for surfers.

The restaurant was closed a couple of the days, so I wasn’t able to eat at the hotel (but the restaurants nearby made up for it). The private outside bathroom was gorgeous, but after a couple days I wouldn’t have minded it being in the airco too :)

Nice people, and a great location. A lovely stay!

Nice breakfast. It’s right on the surf beach (we still had a great time jumping around the waves too- sans board). Staff were friendly, rooms were nice. They have a hangout space with a pool table/table tennis and the pool. Would come back if in the area again :) Gorgeous sunset.

The downstairs rooms were view-less.

A cozy, cultural, and clean facility, yet affordable.

Recommend highly for those poeple willing to chill in an local vibe, yet in an clean facility. I stayed here for two weeks, and my ecperiemce was hightened after up grading my room. Met some down to earth and authentic guests and staff. The beach break is in fromt of the hotel and just five minute walk on the beacj to the beach break.

The very helpful and friendly staff, they really made us feel very welcome. We loved the location, it was quiet and and close to the beach.

Maybe a bit more of a selection of food, although the food was very good. Could have had a bigger choice of drinks.

Great place to relax and surf

Great vibe! Feels like you are welcome from the very beginning. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. AC works very well and the shower is great. Rooms are not serviced (we didn’t ask so not sure if this is done only when requested). The hotel has direct access to the beach and there are two cafes very close by on the beach front that serve great food for a very good price compared to the spots at the point. Although the hotel is directly at the beach, you need to walk quite far to reach the point for surfing (we went by car during our surf sessions). Shout out to Eco our surf couch who always made us feel safe in the water and provided us with great video analysis after all our sessions.

Breakfast was good although quite small since you can only choose one dish and coffee or tea but no fruit or juice included. The hotel restaurant also offers lunch and dinner options but portion sizes are small and it wasn’t our preferred option.

This place was awesome! Our room was amazingly big with a die for view, and our big kids rooms were great too! The staff were very accommodating and Boy the Manager was very nice and helpful. A special thanks to Eco for everything he did for us, he was a great surfing instructor and a wonderful guide. We had so much fun singing together in the car on our road trips. The property itself was a small hotel which was very relaxing by the pool felt like you had the whole place to yourself. Very beautiful and relaxing place.

Nicely located Surfer Hotel

Everyone was trying their best and was very friendly. The Location directly at the beach was great.

There were no kettles in the rooms, which would have been important for us, and it was stated on booking.com, that there would be coffee/tee in the rooms. The Muezzins are quite loud in the morning, if you are a light sleeper be aware. If you don't speak Indonesian communication is a bit challenging, but well, that is part of travelling, right!? A bit disappointing, that fruit platters are not a breakfast option.

Superb

Quiet and serene location, spacious toilet was a huge plus. Location is next to yeh sumbul beach, great for surfing beach break. Had a great surf coach eco who helped a lot in spotting my mistakes in surfing and was able to turn the board down the line at the last lesson. Surfing was most defintely the highlight of the experience here. Eco and his sister also served the freshest lobster and fish bbq to perfection. Try it and you wont regret!

Limited food options nearby, require a scooter to get around to other food places which may be slightly tricky for inexperienced riders with the narrow rocky road access

Pretty cool place in a great location

Overnight stay at West Break Bali - the final night of an ‘escape from Canggu’ weekend. Medewi is still in its infancy, but it seems likely to continue growing in the next few years as development creeps up the coast. It’s a neat hotel, especially popular with surfers, and virtually beachfront. There’s a TV lounge, mini-gym and games to keep people occupied away from the beach. Breakfast is a simple affair, as are the meals available at other times. Staff are friendly.

A few bugbears: - wifi is pretty poor, or it least it was in our room - our upstairs patio was infested with horrible little stink bugs after dark when the lights came on. Impossible to sit out there (it was the same story in the nearby restaurant we went to for dinner) - With only rice fields in the way, West Break is in the firing line of three nearby mosques. The early morning call to prayer is great if you want to get up and pray, but impossible to sleep through if you don’t.

Worth the price, just located at the surfing spot, and the view is good, also got pool and table tennis some other facilities if you'd like to do something different. Very quiet and away from tourists, if you're coming here for surfing, recommended!

A place to stay for longer than a night

The stuff ist friendly and helps with everything. Surf lessons are professional and connected with lots of fun. Rooms and the community areas are clean and you feel comfortable with everything. We had a very great time, best accommodation of our trip, thank you very much 🙏🏻

It would be easier for guests to get some information at the beginning of the stay concerning the offered services/ activities and prices so you don't have to ask for everything seperate (surflessons, laundry, Scooter Rental, massage, breakfast time, etc.).
