owner was very nice. I found the place spacious. tatami mats and futon super comfortable slept very well. AC worked very well.
I wanted to eat raw garlic but quickly found out Japan is too hot with all the sweating and stuff. oh well

Plenty of hot water, a giant TV, and cosy futon beds. Tiny mini refrigerator, electric kettle, a microwave, and FamilyMart about 400m away. The self check-in is very convenient, but just be aware that rooms are in a two-story, older, nondescript apartment building in an area without many street lights. It's a perfectly safe, nice, quiet area, and it's obvious once you know where you're going, but I had some trouble actually finding the stairs/door when I arrived late in the evening. The host very kindly answered the phone when I called and made sure I knew where to go. The apartment is labeled as Arashima Inn on Google Maps and there's a big painted sign on the (dark) side of the building saying Arashima Guest House.
