Amazing location, room was brand new, view was the best in town. 15 minute walk to the waterfall! Would definitely recommend to come here.

The location, it was quiet, the view was spectacular. The staff were welcoming.

We had one of the new villas there were quite a lot of steep steps 30+ to get to our room. We had a very heavy rainfall event and there were no umbrellas to get from your room back up the stairs without being drenched. I would asked not to have the bottom villa if staying again.

We stayed at Houseboon Homestay in Senaru for four nights and it was truly one of the best experiences of our lives. The homestay has breathtaking views of Mount Rinjani, and every morning we enjoyed a delicious banana pancake overlooking the mountains. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained – the perfect place to relax after exploring the area. We originally came to Senaru as a base for climbing Mount Rinjani, but we left with so much more than we expected: a heart full of gratitude. From the first moment, Moden made us feel like family. He went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable, even inviting us to his cousin’s traditional two-day Lombok wedding. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity where we met his extended family, learned about local traditions, and felt completely welcomed into their community. Staying here is not just about having a place to sleep – it’s about living a truly authentic local experience. We shared stories, laughter, and meals, and every detail made us feel at home. If you are looking for a genuine cultural connection, warm hospitality, and stunning natural beauty, Houseboon is the perfect choice. We will never forget our time here and we will definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Senaru and Rinjani in the most authentic and heartfelt way possible. Loved the location -wonderful views and very close to the waterfall gates. The staff were helpful in arranging a driver for us.

The room had visible mold on the walls and smelt very damp. It did not meet the description, with no free toiletries, toilet paper, no potable water or glasses. There was no heater as described but there was a fan that didn't work because there was no electricity at night. There was no top sheet on the bed and the only blanket was not changed when the previous guest checked out just before we checked in -its the same one in the pictures on booking.com so hopefully it's been washed at some stage. And hopefully the base sheet and pillowcases were changed. The photos of breakfast on booking.com are misleading -there was only pancakes. The photos of people relaxing in hammocks in a common area misleading -Concrete slab, no hammocks, minimal furniture.
