About this house rental
The house is located in the highest part of the historic center of the country and borders the walls of the fortresses of the medieval castle, whose history is lost over several centuries until the late Middle Ages. Completely protected to the north, it enjoys exposure to the sun from sunrise to sunset, thus offering an exceptional microclimate for most of the year: very mild winters and cool and windy summers.
It has a large terrace, partly covered by a porch, with a view of the Nera valley.
The approximately 70 meters of elevation from the bed of the Nera river, in addition to offering a breathtaking view overlooking the valley below, allows you to wander east on the Monte della Dormiente, south for several kilometers on the Valnerina up to the villages of Castel di Lago and Montefranco ; to the WEST, where the sun sets, the picturesque town of San Mamiliano.
The site, thanks to GPS coordinates, will be easy to reach but much more difficult to leave if not with the intention of returning. The house was rebuilt by renovating the old houses built just below one of the two fortresses of Ferentillo. With fine finishes and carefully furnished, they are equipped with all the appliances needed for a stay as comfortable as possible,
it enjoys a large common area, outside that touches the walls of the medieval fortresses where, a barbecue fireplace, a stove, a sink and living rooms with tables offer the possibility of peaceful barbecue evenings, alone or in a group, in an atmosphere quiet and enjoying a spectacular view.
All the services made available are free of charge, while the consumption generated, both inside and outside, is borne by the travelers.
The type of lease is, the short-term sale of property for tourist use, well-established in the Italian civil code, to be considered as the regulation of any dispute.
Its structure is as follows: a bedroom, a large living room with kitchenette and bathroom with shower.
A wooden staircase leads us to the attic where a nice solution offers us a comfortable double bedroom with an original foldaway sliding bed and a large bathroom with tub.
The apartment has a panoramic terrace, with lounge and table, outdoors, shaded, overlooking the Nera River and the whole valley, from which you can enjoy a truly satisfying view.
La Perla SPA
La Perla is the small SPA area of our residential complex. A swimming pool, a sauna and a Jacuzzi make this path something that fills the soul with pleasure; a joyful union with the overflowing nature of Valnerina that surrounds the whole Residence.
After a sauna, you can also sip a glass of wine or a cool drink on the comfortable armchairs on our panoramic terrace.

Siamo stati alle Rocche in tre per due settimane, nel bellissimo, comodissimo e attrezzatissimo appartamento Ametista. Una posizione eccezionale, tranquilla e con una spettacolare terrazza sulla valnerina, punto di partenza per meravigliose escursioni su un territorio tutto da scoprire. Paolo è un ospite perfetto, attento e accudente... ricorderemo le piacevolissime chiacchierate e le risate. Una soluzione assolutamente da consigliare

Very well-equipped appartment with a great view from the terrace on Ferentillo from above, very silent, clean and comfortable. Very friendly host, always reachable for any questions and with great suggestions.

Paolo has converted an amazing hillside property into three apartments and a lovely garden each set into a terrace on a steep hillside overlooking the village of Ferentillo. There are lots of steps, but the view is amazing. Each apartment has its own private terrace, and the communal garden is also terraced with different seating areas and an outdoor kitchen, and an above ground pool big enough for our family of five adult-sized people to swim and cool off in. Our apartment was very good - well furnished and the kitchen was reasonably well-equipped. It was quite dark, with small windows, which it needed to be to keep cool, although each room also had air-conditioning. We enjoyed white water rafting on the Nera river, and visiting the amazing Marmore Falls ten minutes down the valley. Ferentillo doesn't have much to it, so you really need a car. Paolo was a delightful host. Be aware that there is a charge of 10 euros per person for linen, and you will also be charged for the water, electricity and gas that you use not only in your flat, but for a share of the communal area. For our three day stay (and we hardly used the AC) we were charged a 30 euros for this. Neither of these were clear from the listing on the website we booked through.
