About this apartment rental
Welcome to Condo Vista del Rio! We spent many years looking for the perfect holiday home and were thrilled when we found this bright, spacious condo so close to the beaches, markets and restaurants we've come to enjoy.
We spend most of our time on the large balcony enjoying the incredible treetop views over the Cuale River and out to the ocean.
Located on a quiet side street in the Zona Romantica, Condo Vista del Rio is a luxuriously finished 2 Bedroom-2 Bathroom condo in a small, boutique style building overlooking the Cuale River. Within a few short, flat blocks you will find Los Muertos Beach, The Malecon, Isla Cuale, shops, restaurants, café’s, live theatre and the Emiliano Zapata outdoor food market.
Working with a local architect, we customized the interior to take advantage of the open floor plan, 11’ ceilings and spectacular views. Embracing traditional Mexican craftsmanship and the simplicity of mid-century modern design, we have created a carefree vacation home where the living areas flow easily from indoors to out allowing guests to enjoy Puerto Vallarta’s tropical climate.
The Kitchen and huge eating island with granite counters are ideal for cooking a a quick lunch, a large, multi-course meal or just having a glass of wine and reheating your leftovers from last night’s dinner! There is an icemaker, blender, toaster and your choice of Kuerig, Drip or Espresso coffee makers. A separate bar area offers extra storage and glassware. All of the appliances have been upgraded and the Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, baking and entertaining.
The Living Room opens onto the Balcony and has a comfortable sectional sofa, large wall mounted 4K HD Smart TV with live streaming TV, Apple TV, Blu Ray/DVD Player and Soundbar.
Both Bedrooms have high quality pillow top mattresses, luxurious 100% cotton bed linens, wall mounted Smart TV’s, ample storage space, ceiling fans and ensuite bathrooms with hotel style vanities and oversized glass showers. The Main Bedroom has an extra long King Sized Bed and the Second Bedroom has a King Sized Bed that can be split into two single beds upon request.
On the Balcony, there is a full sized gas grill, dining table for 4 to 6 people and a comfortable daybed. You’ll enjoy 180° views across the river and treetops out to Banderas Bay and Punta Mita. In the early evening, you may be able to hear the Mariachi’s from Casa Kimberley (Elizabeth Taylor’s former home) and, after dark; you’ll see the Crown on the Church and the nightly fireworks.
For warmer days, there are ultra quiet ceiling fans and high-efficiency mini-split air conditioners in the main Living Area and both Bedrooms. Also included are a Washer/Dryer, Iron, Ironing Board, Hair Dryer, soaps, shampoo, paper products and bottled water. Housekeeping service will be provided weekly during your stay.
Rooftop Pool, Spa, and Gym
**Pool and Hot Tub will be closed for maintenance from Friday May 30 until Monday June 9. Rates have been reduced for this period**
There is a large, heated salt water pool with a built-in bench plus a Spa/Hot Tub with Sun Shade. There are lounge chairs, dining tables, a gas grille, high speed Wi-Fi, a shower and washrooms. This area enjoys incredible views of the mountains, river, ocean, and city.
If you like to work out while on vacation, the rooftop also has a fully equipped gym with views of the mountains and city.
Connectivity and Entertainment
There is high-speed internet to ensure that there is good wi-fi coverage throughout the condo and the balcony. We pay for 150 mb/s service and it’s usually around that speed or higher but can vary depending on the time of day.
All of the TV’s are HD and connected to the internet so that you can enjoy YouTube, Netflix, Amazon and many other apps. The Living Room and Primary Bedrooms TV's are connected to a live tv streaming services that includes all of the major US and Canadian Networks along with many international channels, premium movies, news, sports and lifestyle channels. The Living Room TV has a Blu Ray/DVD Player, Apple TV and a soundbar that can be connected to your device or stream music from Spotify or other app's.. We’ve also added a high-quality portable speaker with a Bluetooth connection.
There is a Vonage voice-over-internet telephone with a Canadian phone number that will allow you to stay in touch with family and friends in Canada and the US toll-free. Mexican landline phones can also be called without any extra charges.
Pool/Beach Towels and 2 Tommy Bahama Beach Chairs are included.
Guest access
As our guests, you will have full access to the condo and the rooftop pool, hot tub, and gym.
The building has a secure front entrance and onsite staff. You will access the condo with a digital lock that will have a unique code for your stay.
Your visitors may call up to the condo and be buzzed-in via an intercom.
Other things to note
All windows and doors have bug screens. Each Bedroom has a safe and one of them is large enough to accommodate most laptop and notebook computers. Beach/Pool towels and a Beach Bag are provided. An elevator serves all levels of the building including the Rooftop.
No pets are allowed.
As part of our effort to reduce our impact on the planet and acknowledging that electricity usage can be expensive in Mexico, we have installed energy efficient LED lighting, appliances, ceiling fans and inverter air conditioning units. The cooktop, oven and dryer are gas operated. The mini split air conditioners cool a room in approximately 10-20 minutes should only be used when a room is occupied. Please do not leave any doors or windows open while an air conditioner is running.

The condo is very comfortable with all the conveniences of home. We especially appreciate the well-appointed kitchen and the rooftop terrace. The location is perfect. It is just a few blocks from the tourist hustle bustle of the Zona Romántica and el centro but in a quieter and more interesting section of Colonia Emiliano Zapata. There is instant access to the Isla Cuale, which affords a more tranquil route to the Malecón and el centro. There are numerous outstanding dining options nearby that are not as busy or touristy. There are also mercados, carnicerías and tortillerías nearby for doing your own cooking.
Communications with Jeff, the owner, are outstanding. He made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and made it clear we could contact him for any help we might have needed. Check-in and check-out were a breeze with keyless condo lock codes personalized for us. We felt VERY secure in this condo. Thank you Jeff!

When we booked our rental back in May, I'm so happy that we did as places were filling up in PV. From the moment we booked, I was very comfortable with our choice as I was able to speak to Jeff and felt instantly assured about the rental and our host.
Prior to our arrival, Jeff emailed us to ensure he would be at the condo to greet us and sent us a great list and info on the condo and on PV and the surrounding area that was very helpful. Upon meeting Jeff, he was as nice and as hospitable in person as he was when we met him. We were greeted with a lovely bottle of Prosseco and a tour of the condo which, was even better in person than the pictures! it's simply a stunning place with an amazing view!
About the condo and surrounding area:
The place was immaculate and came with lots more than we expected including even little things in the kitchen such as condiments, containers for food, saran wrap, etc. The laundry room was fully stocked as well and, if you forget your beach bag, no problem! Jeff even thought of that too! These little touches made for a very easy and care free stay. There were 3 of us (3 women) in the place and it's a great size for 3-4 people. The high ceilings give it a very roomy feel. The terrace is lovely and overlooks a park and river and is quite quiet and serene from the hustle and bustle of the rest of PV. The furnishings are gorgeous and there is tons of room for everything. It's also very safe to enter/leave and the personalized code lock made it even more so. But, if you want extra security, there are 2 safes in the condo as well. The rooftop pool and hot tub are gorgeous and we spent one full day just lounging up there soaking up the sun.
Our host, Jeff was also extremely accessible by phone, email or text if we had any questions and met us when we checked out. He made our stay extremely comfortable and pleasant. The damage deposit was returned less than a week by VRBO and so there was no issue with that either.
In summation, if you are looking for a beautiful place that is close to the beach, shops, and want condo living in PV, this is your place! I would, without hesitation, book this place again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fab place! You can't go wrong.

We booked our rental back in May for travel in December and I'm so glad we did! From the moment I was able to speak to Jeff (owner) on the phone, I was instantly assured that we booked the right place! Jeff was very accommodating, friendly and I felt very confident with our booking from the get go.
Prior to our arrival, Jeff emailed all of us to get our arrival information to ensure he would greet us at the condo. And, he also sent us a very detailed information on the condo, PV itself, along with a 3D tour of the condo. All of it was very useful!
When we arrived at the condo, we were greeted by Jeff who was as nice in person as he was on the phone. The place was exactly as it was in the photos if not better! It is beautifully appointed and with all the condo amenities you may need including towels, sheets, laundry detergent, a full kitchen with condiments, etc. it's a very large and spacious place with a lovely balcony and the rooftop pool and hot tub were a total bonus with amazing views of the city. We even were greeted with a lovely bottle of Prosecco when we got there. And, leave your beach bags at home if you want, we had those too! There isn't anything this place lacked - the owners have taken the time to think of anything one might need a visitor. We instantly loved the place and it's location was ideal. Across from the condo, there is a park and river walkway and while PV can be loud and noisy, our condo was quiet and serene. The Malecon is less than 10 mins by walking and there is so much around there! The location is also very secure and safe. We were 3 women and felt very comfortable in the condo. And, for added security, there are even 2 safes in the condo and a secure code lock you will create your own personal lock for.
I simply can't say enough about the place or the host! If I return to PV, without hesitation, I would book Jeff's condo again in a heartbeat! It's convenient location, quiet neighbourhood, gorgeous furnishings and a wonderful, accessible host are everything you could want from a vacation rental. You will not be disappointed! The only thing you need to do is relax and enjoy! Happy vacationing!

Fantastic very comfortable, clean, well appointed condo in the Romantic Zone, situated across from the river. Quiet with terrific views from balcony and roof top deck. Close enough to nearby restaurants, beaches, and shops located a very short walk away. Our host Jeff made us feel very welcome and provided a wealth of info and suggestions with everything you need to know about shopping, getting around, and terrific restaurant recommendations. Condo was super comfortable, nicely furnished and rigged out with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I've rented many other condos in various cities and this one is the best I've every stayed in. Jeff has thought of all those little extra touches that made a place special. Looking forward to staying here again in the near future. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta.
