Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 amIf it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.

We loved loved loved the location of this property. As listed just a short walk to the beach, close to really good restaurants, & just a short distance to many activities. This was an overall cozy home with all the amenities & a spacious outdoor space. And you can indeed see & hear ocean from top story. It is not the most up to date home but that does not change the fact we highly recommended it, has everything we needed & wanted!

The check in process was seamless. We received advance notice with the door code and directions to the house. The cleaners were still cleaning the lower level when we arrived but finished shortly after we arrived. The refrigerator and the house had a fishy odor when we arrived, like someone had cooked and stored seafood. The smell could have been eliminated with a box of baking soda in the fridge and some air freshener. It cleared out after a couple hours with opened doors and windows. It appears the kitchen area has been remodeled within the past five years or so. The five burner and three rack gas stove/oven was nice for cooking for our large group. There were sufficient pots, pans, bowls and dinner wear. We could have used a few more forks and a splash guard for the large frying pan would have been welcomed. The rest of the house could use some updating, particularly the bathrooms. We did report an issue with the shower head in the bathroom on the main floor. The beds were comfortable, with a firm mattress on the FULL bed on the main floor and medium firm beds in the other rooms. The hot tub worked well and was enjoyed by all. Overall the house was clean and well stocked. The house is a three level home with lots of stairs. I would not recommend it for anyone with knee or mobility issues. We did not utilize the small yard area. It could use some maintenance and cleanup of items left by previous guests. We enjoyed our stay and the nearby beach.

Overall the house was good for a large family and had all the essentials. However it was a little difficult to find at first. Also very out dated and not worth the amount of money it cost nightly. I saw so many other houses that were in better shape for much less in the same area. You can not have an outside fire pit like it says and there are no koi fish in the pond. We could not get the TV in the master bedroom to work and the house has the families personal items throughout the house. Check-in and out was easy and didn't require much but we left everything cleaned up with only linens needing to be done.

The house is clean, spacious, and quiet. Check-in was super easy and the door code worked as specified. There was plenty of room for our party and ample parking for all our cars.The kitchen was nice, between that and the grill, we had plenty of room to make ourselves meals.The beds were comfortable.Most of the house - fixtures, furniture, shower curtains, etc. - has not been updated in quite some time. It is well-maintained but also well-worn.The Dish network entertainment system is old enough to have a Blockbuster Video port on it. There were no channels that anyone wanted to watch and we were blocked from video on demand, so, no family movie night.The pool table is nice, but there were no pool cues so we could not play.

It is hard to assess what kind of house we are renting. This one looked nice and fulfilled our needs. (plenty of bedrooms and allow dog)However, the house is very dated. I haven't seen the linoleum floor in the bathroom for a long time, and the sink is very dated. The downstairs basement was not very appealing. It smelled musty, and one of the sinks was broken. The management company must know that because they shut down the plumbing to prevent the water from flowing. The garbage bin was already half full with someone else's garbage. And there are no instructions on how it should be collected other than that we must put our garbage in by Thursday. No one came to put the garbage bin on the curb. (It is quite a distance to get to the entrance to the house) The few items are not very accommodating, as the curtain rod in the main bedroom was not installed for the needs, so it will break every time we try to close the curtain.If you need to be dark when you sleep, this main bedroom is not ideal. There is no good curtain, and one door to the deck doesn't have any shield. The kitchen has everything you need but is overstocked, in my opinion. We don't need three or four can openers. It would be nice if they kept the essentials and got rid of extra staff. The lack of a crisper drawer in the fridge was a bit of a hassle. The hot tub was good, and we used it every day.Overall, we enjoyed our stay because the Oregon Coast is a beautiful place with an abundance of seafood.

10 of us had a grand time at Fernglen. We appreciated the easy access to beach, the hot tub, firepit ( for S'mores), wooded surrounding s and the comfortable, homey feel of this beach house. Lots of stairs inside & out, so not appropriate for handicapped or those with mobility issues. The WiFi was not available for the time we were there (at 76 I did not mind being "disconnected" 😉).

Loved our stay. The Home was absolutely beautiful as well as very cozy. Felt very at home. Having a washer and dryer was a plus with a large family and lots of beach time. Was a very short and easy walk to the beach which was so nice not looking for parking.

The internet was down during our entire stay. It wasn't a outage, just related directly with this home. I believe they have had issues for sometime now. They had a satellite option which was also down, and an old DVD player which didn't work. Kind of great opportunity to force my family to connect without electronics, but a pain for me to work and need to head to coffee shop every time I needed to connect with the laptop.

Spent four nights with adult children and grandchildren at Fernglen, and we couldn't have been happier with the location and the house. This is the first house we've rented at the Oregon Coast that didn't have close neighbors, and it truly is like being in a small forest. The house is spacious and comfortable, and the property has a small pond, swings for the kids, a fire pit (a burn ban prevented it's use), a hot tub, and ample parking. It's just a short walk to the beach and beautiful sunsets over the water. We hope to visit again!

Had a great time staying at Fernglen Forested Beach Retreat, it was perfect place for our family to stay. We loved the beach access with an easy walk to a quiet non-crowded beach. The house is close enough that you can hear the ocean from the deck or inside if the windows are open, but it still had a forest feel with the trees and foliage around the property. We could play at the beach and then come back to roast marshmallows in the firepit. Also loved the layout of three levels with bedrooms on each, so that everyone felt like they had their own space. Finally it was conveniently located about half way between Depoe Bay and Lincoln City so we could easily explore both.

We LOVED this house! It’s perfect for a couple families, ones with kids etc. The property is beautiful and all the big windows and decks are just amazing! The house was stocked and kitchen had a lot of items most don’t. Everything was wonderful! The short walk to the beach was just what we love and the families and kids had a blast daily. Really enjoyed our stay at this location. It was so close to the beach, the layout is great for groups, the hot tub was awesome. The trash cans were full, we found some wrappers under one of the beds, and the felt on the pool table is damaged. It’s also a little tricky to get to - would recommend they include instructions with their welcome letter since the three navigation apps used by our group couldn’t get us to the location correctly. We all said we would consider staying again though. It’s spacious both inside and out, plenty of parking, loved the make-up towels, the welcome wine was a nice touch, and the fireplace was lovely. Basically everything you really need was provided for a great stay near the ocean.

This property was perfect for our family. Everyone had their own floor w/bathrooms! lol that is crucial. We could open our windows and hear the ocean - sooo peaceful! The wooded retreat was still literally a 5 min walk to the beach. We loved it!

We loved our stay. The house was clean and comfortable in every sense. The kitchen was well stocked They even provided a good ground coffee provided and a nice bottle of wine, although we didn’t use it much, there are so many wonderful restaurants close by. Our favorite was the Side Door Cafe just a skip away from the house. We went there each night. If you wander further down the highway be sure to check out The Clearwater in Newport. Wonderful fresh food and exceptional service. The beds are comfortable and the view from the upper floor is lovely. The hot tub was ready to use but for some reason we didn’t. Idk… Plenty of towels and additional bedding if needed, and good laundry facilities. We loved coming in after a late dinner and watching a movie before tucking in for the night, with the window cracked so I could listen to the ocean. Make this trip. It’s a good stay.

This house and property is amazing. It has so much space and there are plenty of things to do even if the weather is not good. The view isn’t as good as it used to be because trees and houses have been built. But it is close to the beach you can hear the waves crashing. I will definitely go here again sometime. :)

My family and I loved our time spent at Fernglen. The location was great and an easy drive to several beaches and towns. It is just a short walk to the beach. The privacy was amazing, the grounds are rainforest like. It was incredibly peaceful and the beds were comfy. We will be back!

Clogged master tub drain. Broken coffee maker. Previous tenants hair on furniture and on walls of showers. A bed in he garden filled with empty wine bottles. Litter on the grounds. Hot tub was unusable:sand and cloudy water. Broken deck chair. Broken reading lamp in the master bedroom because of “wiring”. Outlet in the living room needed to be duct-taped because of faulty wiring. Pictures showed an outdoor picnic table with an umbrella that simply wasn’t there. Not a single screen on any of the house’s windows. The worst place I’ve ever rented.

This home is exactly as pictured and described. It was well appointed and stocked with everything you need. The space was very nice for kids and felt inviting. There were lots of games and books and dvds for the kids to get excited about. The hot tub was hot and very clean and the kitchen had anything you would need to cook any meal. The main floor could feel a little small but with all the space outdoors and the billiards room there was plenty of space to spread out. You can’t beat the location and it felt very private in a quiet friendly neighborhood. We all felt very welcome and would love to stay there again.

My husband and some of our extended family (9 total) stayed here for a 3 day vacation. The house is in a very private and secluded setting yet a close walk to the beach. No complaints except the first night we heard a very loud water hammer every time anyone used any water. I called iTrip the next day and they were very responsive. They were going to send a service person out to investigate, but the noise eventually stopped so it wasn’t necessary. The only other comment is bring your own foil, plastic wrap, etc., as there isn’t any at the house. Other than that the kitchen was well stocked and equipped. The house and furnishings are not fancy but very comfortable, there’s lots of light and the upstairs master suite is very spacious. The deck was great for enjoying the nice weather we had. There was plenty of parking as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Our family consisted of 9 adults, three of which were over 6' 2". The listing was for 10 people. The virtual tour shown and the still pictures shown did not match. We did manage to squeeze them into the bunk beds, plus one slept on the couch. The futon is more for a child. The pool table had a torn velvet playing area. There was a leak under the master bathroom sink. The windows had no screens and to my eyes as well as my other lady guests, the cleaning staff did not do a very good job. And since there is quite a substantial cleaning fee charged , I expected a better job. Another evening we were going to BBQ but the grill was so dirty that we changed plans. Since there was no grill brush we could not clean it. Used aluminum foil trays we bought to cook on. Also there needs to be a inventory of kitchen tools or let people know they need to bring their own.(i.e.) not one spatula. Bless my daughter-in-law for reminding me to think of it as camping. There were some nice features but need to be enhanced to make this a really a special retreat worth the price paid. It seemed as if the owners were not prepared for guests yet.
