About this house rental
This holiday cottage sits right on the water front by the small town of Sandsletta, on the west side of the island Austvågøya. The landscape is open and sunny and gives a panoramic view of the sea and the mountains. Enjoy sunsets from the terrace. It's especially delightful to sit on the rocks outside the cottage and listen to the waves hitting the beach. During bright spring and summer nights, the landscape will be colored red by the midnight sun. The shallow bay below the house has a narrow stray where the sea water enters. You can catch both salmon and trout in this bay. A motor boat is included and is tied up right by the house. The area has several fishing lakes. The flat landscape is perfect for biking and hiking. 10 km to the foodstore in the fishing village Laukvik. Here you may also walk along the great pier protecting the harbor from stormy weather, and enjoy the fresh and salty sea air from the open ocean. On stormy days, the great weaves hitting the pier are impressive to look at. The town Sand further north has idyllic sandy beaches. The house is a perfect starting point for driving around Lofoten. 25 km to Svolvær, the centre of Lofoten with its shops, restaurants and airport. 30 km to Kabelvåg, where you can have a close up experience with live fish at the town's aquarium. A gallery and museum can also be found here. 17-21 ft boats is available for rent in Laukvik. BOAT ONLY AVAILABLE BETWEEN MAY 5TH AND SEPTEMBER 10TH.

We loved our stay here! The house was beautiful and immaculate. It was so relaxing and we loved the view of the water. So glad we stayed here for our time in Lofoten!

Die Unterkunft liegt etwa 10 km von der Hauptstraße (E10) entfernt direkt am Wasser mit tollem Blick auf Sund und Berge. Vom Parkplatz an der Straße zum Haus sind ca. 70 Schritte bergab zu gehen, wenn man nicht den abschüssigen Schotter-/Steinweg ohne Wendemöglichkeit hinabfahren möchte. / Das Haus war innen bitterkalt, als wir ankamen (wie Außentemperatur ca. 5°C) und ließ sich mit den (etwa für das Wohnzimmer deutlich unterdimensionierten) Elektroheizkörpern nur begrenzt ausreichend aufwärmen, mit Hilfe des Kamins (Holz gab es in einem Baumarkt in Svolvaer zu kaufen) ging es dann. Strom ist vom Mieter selbst zu abzulesen und bar zu bezahlen, daher natürlich auch das erste Aufheizen des Hauses (insgesamt haben wir ca. 20 ¬ Strom für eine Woche bezahlt). / Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche ist sehr gering, Haarewaschen bedurfte einiger Geduld. / Wir haben die Microwelle nicht ans Laufen bekommen, können aber nicht sagen, ob wir sie falsch bedient haben oder sie defekt ist.
