Boss’s farmhouse

The old house has a lot of character and is well-kept.

Really lovely gardens - peaceful, quiet, private, mature trees, different areas. Like a world of its own. House had really nice character, sensitively modernized but not at all blingy. Our trip was a short one but this would be a lovely place to spend a few days, with time to cook, eat & enjoy just being there.

It's be nice to have a second bathroom. The small double bedroom is really very small, with almost no room for anything other than the bed. Maybe a bench in here for clothes & bags, with space under for shoes etc. would be more useful than a chest of drawers? And a bed with enough space under it to slide in a case & shoes? The fridge in the hall outside the bathroom is a bit of a nuisance - is a wood-burning stove in the kitchen really necessary? (We were there in a summer heatwave so we couldn't tell!).

The location was remote, which was what we wanted. The decor was well-done and it had everything we could need. We were just sad we booked for one night only. Would've loved a longer stay.

WiFi was a little weak, but that was to be expected given the remote location.

lovely house although a bit damp perhaps.

we arrived as a family of five late in the evening and it would have been nice to have a small welcome such as milk in the fridge and tea bags.
