Guesthouse Aubrey - Charming Cottage in the Heart of Bruges

We had a wonderful long weekend stay at this charming house in Brugge. The location is absolutely perfect — right in the centre, yet tucked just far enough away from the busiest streets to be peaceful and quiet. Everything you’d want to see, explore, or enjoy is within easy walking distance, but you can truly relax when you return to the house. The property itself is full of character. From the outside, it has that beautiful historic Brugge charm, while inside it has been very tastefully renovated with a clean, modern feel. The combination works perfectly — you get the atmosphere of an old house with all the comfort of a contemporary interior. The house was spotless on arrival, which we really appreciated. The heated hardwood flooring adds to the warm and high-quality feel of the place, and everything felt very well cared for. All in all, this is a fantastic place to stay in Brugge — quiet, stylish, comfortable, and ideally located. We would happily stay here again!

Because it’s a historic house, the ground floor doesn’t get a huge amount of natural daylight. That said, this is very much part of the charm of staying in an older property in Brugge, and the tasteful interior lighting makes it feel warm and cosy rather than dark. It certainly didn’t detract from our stay.

It lacks a real place to relax with friends. There's the dining table to sit and chat, but not really a comfortable sofa to sink into after a busy day walking Bruges.

The owner was very helpful and the apartment was more like a 3 story house. It was well equiped clean and had all we need to enjoy our stay in Brugge.

There was some riad work close by but it had no impact on our stay
