The Gallery 42 Guest House

The Gallery 42 Guest House is a wonderful place to stay in Florence. The property is conveniently located, about a 5 minute walk to the Duomo. The room has everything you need, including cold water in the fridge and a coffee machine. There is air conditioning that works well. We had a small terrace which was nice to sit in the evening. The staff were very friendly and provided heaps of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. It is very clean and the room is cleaned every 2 nights. We did not hear any sound from other guests. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Florence again the future.

The check in by appointment only is a little bit tricky if arriving by train/plane etc and times change. But we were managed to check in even though we arrived earlier than anticipated.

Great location, close to all main attractions. Very friendly check-in. Very clean, great facilities for a guesthouse.

Ideally I use a new towel everyday. The cleaning of rooms/towel change was every 2 days. This is purely my preference-no doubt not an issue for others. This wouldn’t stop me booking here again though. Gallery 42 is fantastic.

It is a wonderful place to stay if you visit Florence, located within a walking distance to everything you can visit Totally recommend

We had a great stay, it was spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable & facilities like the safe, coffee maker, kettle & fridge were lovely touches on a rainy afternoon! The bathroom was beautiful & plenty of hot water. Location was excellent, an easy walk to the main attractions. We walked from the train station also. A little tricky in places with cases & narrow pavements, but it was fine.

It was perfect apart from the unfortunate noise generated from a loud, noisy water pump (or something?) that was next to our room every time we or anyone else in used the water. We slept quite badly. For personal reasons we can’t use ear plugs, suggest you come prepared because other than the noise this place is lovely.
