Breakfast and food very good, staff all lovely
Few things need attention, taps in kitchen and bathroom need looking at, flat just needs a little TLC.

The location
We have stayed here 3 or 4 times over the past few years and can honestly say this will be our last until some refurbishment has going on the place has definitely going down hill

Clean, comfortable, perfect for a couple. Next to a good hotel where we ate excellent food.
Sited at the top of a very steep hill.

Location was lovely. Staff friendly. Accommodation was great apart from the strong smell of cat urine!

The apartment was lovely
Expensive for what you get .
Shower was poor .
Bit of a steep hill to get to the property.
Outside the front door was full of rubbish
The bedroom and kitchen windows open onto the hotel kitchen area all you could smell is food being cooked and staff standing chatting outside the windows early morning until late

I liked staying in Portpatrick and the proximity to the hotel next door, where we ate. Furnishings ok but "cheaply opulent". Bed comfy. Shower warm but not overly powerful.
Landlords essentially non-communicative. Very little instruction on how to get keys. Not much natural light in the property and the kitchen window was sealed shut due to it being the hotel staff smoking area directly outside. Scorch marks on the wall from pipe repairs, rust marks on radiators from pipe leaks, light fittings not securely attached to the wall, place smelt of damp (and so did clothes after a night there).

Great location, we could easily walk into town or visit the hotel restaurant for meals. The rooms were all very clean and spacious. Overall very pleased with the standard of the place!
Some of the windows were stuck, we couldn't open them, which was tough since the rooms were quite warm.
We wished there was an overhead light for the big dining table, we spent a lot of time sitting at the table playing games.
The taps in the main bathroom were tough to turn on, and the taps weren't attached very well to the sink.

Very local to the community.
It’s very dark with no outlook but plenty lights on the inside. I would say money has been spent in the accommodation, attention to detail missing. Two electric sockets in living area unsafe. Bathroom main area requiring attention. Bath taps loose and difficult to link to shower. Skirting boards around the bathroom door looks dirty and grouting both floor, bath front and walls need attention. The UPVC windows in bathroom need a bit of a clean up. Wallpaper in the kitchen area is peeling off, same in bedroom. Just takes someone to take time and go in to the apartment create a snagging list to improve the apartment. Inferior bedroom pillows could be of much better quality for any great expense.

Apartment 19 is lovely, much bigger than we expected with loads of room for 8 people. Plenty of room for sitting around and for eating and even a Pac-Man machine!
The staff in the hotel were really friendly and helpful with any queries we had.
Nothing we didn't like!

Portpatrick has some stunning views and the property is close to the harbour and golf club
very disappointed with customer service. We collected keys from the Mount Stewart Hotel. Having booked a 4 bedroom apartment. We were directed to an apartment across town. when we arrived it only had 2 bedrooms, not the 4 we had booked and paid for. When we contacted the hotel they told us that we had been given a free upgrade as this apartment had a hot tub. No use for us as nobody told us there would be a hot tub before we left home and we needed more than 2 rooms. We went back to the hotel to view the 4 bedroom apartment we should have been staying in that was far removed from the photos online, was oveelooking the car park and generally not very nice. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and other friends due to join us cancelled their trip. On the bank holiday Monday, workers arrived at 8.30 and began dismantling the balcony in the apartment above, literally thowing wooden spindles down onto the decking outside our patio doors. workers didn't even acknowledge us let alone apologies. They left splinters of wood and rusty screws all over the decking outside the apartment that is the route to the hot tub. We complained to the hotel staff and received extremely poor responses. failure to respond to emails at first followed by an extremely defensive email pretty much blaming us for the issues. We sent a follow up email to clarify what had happened and have received no response over the last 10 days despite several chase up messages. very disappointing

The apartment was in a great location overlooking the harbour. It was spotlessly clean and everything you would need. The hotel Mount Stewart that the apartments are part of is modern, clean, and does amazing food. The staff are really friendly
There was nothing o didn't like about our stay

it’s in a lovely location
there where no towels in property had to ask hotel for them also no iron or ironing board had to ask for them the smoke alarm in one of the room kept going off apparently there was a fault in it had to take it off the ceiling and the bath plug didn’t work and to open it with something to let the water out

- Property was very clean
- Bed was laid out nicely on arrival
- Complimentary tea and coffee was great to have
- Heating worked
- Comfy Beds
- Very clean Bathroom
- Plenty of storage space
- We heard a lot of noise from outside bedroom window around the later hours of the evening. Seemed the window led out into an area where staff were smoking/ talking with one another so it was quite a disturbance.
- At start the kitchen did not come with a tea towel/ sponge for cleaning dishes and I had to go in and ask for one.
- Oven did not come with any metal trays inside.
- Living room looks very bare with only a tv and a sofa compared to rest of the apartment.
- Can really do with a doormat when you come inside for cleaning shoes on.

The property was lovely!! I loved the bedroom furniture and it was lovely and clean with good facilities. I didn't realise it was part of the stewart hotel and wish we had have booked dinner as the menu looked amazing. Unfortunately there was no availability
The couch was extremely uncomfortable for 2 people to cozy up and watch TV and we took the xbox hoping to be able to watch netflix but there was no wifi

Nothing
Contacted them myself and via 'booking' on the 13th to say we had a bereavement and could we delay our entry. Tried getting in touch daily from then on as did 'booking'. No one answered or responded until the 25th (in the evening of the day we should have arrived) to say it would be dealt with promptly the next day. That same day someone from 'booking' finally got hold of someone on the phone number they promote for the 1st time in 12 days of trying. They too said it would be dealt with the next day. Three days later still no response. Very poor service, disgusting in fact.
Thank you for making a difficult time in our lives more miserable.
Do not book.

there was no breakfast the interior décor was good .
I have difficulty in walking and the original description of this property did not mention that this was at the top of a very steep hill, the kitchen window did not open, the bedroom window opened into the yard at the rear of the hotel and was blanked off by a panel. The noise from staff and bottles etc. carried on until late at night.
When I booked this apartment it was for 19 South Crescent which when checked with Google Earth was on the main road beside the harbour not on South Cliff at the top of an extremely steep hill.

1. The freezer was frozen and covered in ice so that there was only one third capacity of the freezer to freeze food which resulted in us having to throw away a lot of the frozen food which we had ordered online and had it delivered on the day we arrived.
2. The key is very sticky in the lock and the door handle is very hard to move, so much so that we got locked in on the first morning & had to call reception. Had there been a fire , the eight of us would never have got out. We didn't lock the top half of the door after that, we just bolted the lower half so that we could get out in the event of a fire

Fabulous location in gorgeous Portpatrick on the west coast of Scotland. A really pretty seaside village with a few places to eat out and get take aways. The apartment has a kitchen with an oven, microwave, toaster and fridge, so self catering is easy too.
A bigger selection of kitchen utensils including different sized saucepans would be useful.

Great location, lovely modern bar area and outside eating....food was good too!
The apartment was quite dark, lack of natural light due to configuration of apartment, if visited again would choose another apartment or room within hotel.
