We chose Bishop Gate B&B for a personalised service, and that's exactly what we got.

Jim did his best to accommodate us for breakfast (vegan and gluten free), and we both appreciated this very much. The B&B is within easy distance of the wall. It was freezing outside, so being able to come into the warmth was great.

This can't be changed easily, but the toilet doesn't leave much space for long legs.

My only gripe was a small leak from a pipe in the bathroom connected to the sink. It only seemed to leak after we had used it a few times however and was not leaking when we checked in.

The hosts were very friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast was great. The room was very clean, well furnished and comfortable. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet.

Small things. We had a private bathroom which was not directly accessible from the room and we had to go through common area to visit it. We did not expect it and it was a bit uncomfortable. We were a little cold at night. Southern people might need an extra light blanket available!

This b and b was in an excellent location for us just a few blocks from the walled city.. We arrived a little early but the owner was happy to greet us. He was super friendly and gave us all kinds of information about the local area. Initially we had a problem parking but there are eateries, a grocery shop, hair salon etc right in the area so customers were coming and going. We got a parking spot right outside the b and b. Breakfast was very good with both full cooked and continental options. We had tea and coffee in our room. We would stay here again.

Jim is a great host who is clearly part of the local community. He gave Idealgreat advice on what to see and where to eat and hear authentic Irish music. The Irish breakfast lived up to previous reviews. Jim was especially helpful after our car was clipped early in the morning by a car that didn't stop.

Jim, the host was fantastic. So helpful and friendly. The bnb is really close to the town walls and pubs with traditional music. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic as well.

Lovely Stay

Although rooms are very small they are quite comfortable. Bathroom is exceptionally small but for a one night stay it was great. The Owner/Manager, Jimmy was very welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic, toast, jam, pancakes, full english breakfast what ever you liked. Property is well situated with parking out front, it is only a 10 min into the walled city where there are loads of pubs, restaurants etc.

The whole house is spotless, the room is very comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. The location is ideal, just outside the walls and walking distance to all that Derry has to offer. We were made to feel very welcome and were given great advice from Jim, a wonderful gentleman, on the area and its history. Would book again in a heartbeat.

Gentleman 'Jim', the friendliest man in Londonderry! Great b&b 200 yards or so from city walls. Jim gave me some great advice on where to go and what to see. Room was very comfortable, motorcycle parked safely in front garden, the Ulster Fry was tremendous. Than you Jim!

Jim was a fantastic host who went above and beyond for us. He was so kind about us arriving late and helped us settle in with recommendations for dinner and giving us great advice about things to do in Derry. The room was lovely and comfortable, we slept so well! The location is ideal, it’s only a short walk to the walls. Can’t recommend this B&B enough!

The location was fantastic with free parking. Room was clean and Jim was a wealth of knowledge about anything and everything concerning Derry and surrounds. His breakfast was excellent. Overall a great experience.
